Controller UI will not load properly in native Linux version during Kingdom Management, making it impossible to continue. The only work around is to switch to a Windows version and use Proton.
If you're comfortable opening up Steam install directories and copies some files over, its easy to get running.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 WINEDDLOVERRIDES="xlive.dll=n,b" %command%
I couldn't get Resident Evil 5 fixes to work without bypassing Games for Windows Live separately (despite claims by its install page). I did get it working though. Here are the steps I follow.
First, download Resident Evil 5 fixes. Extract and copy into the game's install directory.
Next, bypass Games for Windows Live by copying xlive.dll (easy to find in Google) into the game's install directory.
Then, open the game's properties in Steam and add this to your command line:
DXVK_ASYNC=1 WINEDDLOVERRIDES="xlive.dll=n,b" %command%
Finally, set compatability to Proton Experimental.
I tried some of the instructions from other reports, but the game would not start even though Steam showed it as running. It wasn't until I used all the settings noted above that it started to work. But now it runs great!
-game Unofficial_Patch
Installed from Steam, ran once, and then used protontricks to install the Unofficial Patch. Afterwards, set resolution to 1280x800 using in-game configuration.
Using -full, -width, and -height commands showed a blank screen. No issues when set from in-game options.
Game does not seem to shut down properly when exiting using the in-game menus. After exiting using in-game menus, the game would not load again until Deck was restarted. However, using the Steam button menu to exit the game seems to avoid the issue. So far, it has loaded properly every time after I've exited using the Steam button menu.
Will not load at all without the Unofficial Patch. Requires tinkering.
