Amazing Gameplay When Tweaking Settings, Frame Limit at 45
Steam Deck default settings too slow for my taste
Steam Deck graphical settings are somehow better than low.
Recommendation: Start with Steam Deck settings, then lower settings, and increase the frame limit to 45. Played 3 hours after downloading, with a pre Phantom Liberty save. No problems and little to no stutter (frame drops so far only noticable when rendering V's starting apartment, and to about 30 frames).
Finally able to fight MaxTac. 10/10 would get curb stomped again.
Fantastic Game With Great Steam Deck Playability, Low ~45-60 FPS
I play on low, and that's more than enough. Most of the time I'm at 60 FPS. The only places where I hit 45 FPS (and it usually climbs up to average near 55 FPS, and even my main PC sometimes has 55 FPS lag spikes but on high) are in cities like Rattay. Most of the other towns and the wilderness hit 60 FPS consistently. Would highly recommend on the Steam Deck.
One of the Few Games That Play Amazingly Out of The Box
No settings tweaking and it runs amazingly (like better than most AAA verified games). Can lower further and apply 60-90 frame limit if you want the best frames. A solid pick for the Steam Deck!
Very Enjoyable with Low Settings Tweaks. WARNING: Omniwand Freezing w/ Steam Deck
Froze system (SteamOS) when using omniwand
Runs amazingly with tweaks like lowering resolution, graphics >> low, and disabling different settings with a frame limt near 45. Save from PC using Steam Cloud worked perfectly.
Tested on 1.0 with Steam Deck OLED. Quick Google search of previous report shows launcher bug is not solely steam deck dependent (recomment verifying game integrity!).
Was able to clear half a house until I tried using an Omniwand and the entire Steam Deck became unresponsive. Absolutely playable, but it seems something about rendering another virtualized screen in the game breaks things.
Low settings, FSR2 Balanced, DX12, Forced 1024x640 internal/external resolution, Limit Frames to 45
Added Y key to right trackpad, and added left shift toggle setting for left stick press
Using lower res and FSR2 makes text hard to read

Game caused system to freeze sometimes
Tested on 1.0 with Steam Deck OLED
Only Enjoyable If A Hardcore SF Fan - Expect ~30 FPS
Sometimes looking around quickly results in missing textures
Hitting 45fps requires significant downgrades, and will get lag spikes when in cities.
20 FPS in cities, maybe 40 if you run on low. With Low + Dynamic resolution on, its like playing while looking through a goldfish bowl. Would not recommend until Bethesda optimizes performance.
Enjoyable. For 60 FPS keep advanced video settings on Low.
Can be difficult to read depending on vision, but fine
May require a Microsoft Live Account for saves, but certainly for logging in. Can be played offline.
Other than the Microsoft Live Account requirement, it runs extremely well. FPS lowers only when loading in high density buildings near active bases (usually only as low as 45-55 for a moment w/ buildings).
Runs suprisingly well! Set it to low, FSR, frame generation, and limit 60fps
Sometimes the screen gets frizzy when there's a black border like in a cutscene
There may be additional settings I didn't point out, but it was easy to optimize with the given settings. Played through the campaign and logged about 80 hours before I tried it on my PC. Performance is definitely map-dependent. Some you'll average 60 fps, and some dips infrequently near 30 fps (but still surprisingly playable).
Great Performance, Great Game
Pretty good out the box--running it with the launcher first sets the graphics to low. 60 FPS locked. On low it's pretty enjoyable. Opted for this over Vermitide 2 because of Deck performance and can say I'm happy.
