I tried all tips and tricks from ProtonDB and the Steam spoort pages, but only the launcher started. I never reached the game itself.
In its current state the game is unusable on Linux.
It is impossible setup a suitable resolution, working full screen or to get usable frame rates.
I worked around the DirectX error, which is displayed even in 'vilkan' mode (WTF?). But setting up a proper display is completely impossible. The window mode with resized window to screen max gives poor FPS rates.
So, the game is currently completly unuseable on Linux. Given the fact, that the older "GR Wildlands" works fine (!), it shows how badly programmed the game is. Possibly UBI did it by intention, which is as bad as bad programming.

Full AMD driver crash resulting in a 'dead' desktop, when starting to build something.
I got it working by compiling mesa and AMD GPU GL/VK drivers myself on Manjaro. I reverted back to stock packages. But although the current packages supply newer versions of mesa since my last attempt, it is still broken. I see a flickering square pattern in the background. When starting to build, the GPU crashes and with it the desktop. Computer is still fine, you can login from some other compiler and restart the desktop manager. This happens with a Radeon 7700XT 12GB card. As said, once it worked after compiling stuff myself. But then it stop working with even newer mesa and AMD driver version.
With the same OS it works out of the box with a NVidia 3060 without thinkering.
You need to remove or rename a game library (systemdetection.dll), otherwise the game does not start. This information can be found on inet
Renamed systemdetection.dll , otherwise game won't start
Still a phantastic game...
