Works perfectly
I used Proton 6.3-3 and the Launcher shows correctly without any startup options. The game also works for me on high graphic settings with around 120 FPS.
Worked without problems.
Seems to be the same under Windows
On lowest settings i got 50-60 FPS. On highest settings i got 30-40 FPS.
I had to create a folder so the game works:
mkdir ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/359320/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Local\ Settings/Application\ Data/Elite\ Dangerous\ Launcher_evidencehere
Install and play.
Tried the native version of the game first. This crashed every time after trying to join a server with 52 mods without error message. After that I used Proton 6.3-2, where everything worked.
Except for the fact that online multiplayer doesn't work. The local session did not cause any problems. And we had fun.
In about 2 hours there were 3 times strange audio errors (unsynchronized and fragmented) that disappeared after a few seconds.
Had to use the following startup options:
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
FPS In game: 90-120. Sometimes the FPS drops to 60, but never less. Played with the preset medium variant of the graphics settings.
Installation worked pretty flawless. After starting it I got stuck everytime in the login/menu screen. Tried various Proton versions.
Can't use nvidia 450 drivers because of graphics card.
After that fix there were no more problems.
Added start options: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=90 %command%
