Runs as expected
Thought mouse support was broken. Turns out the game is keyboard only. Runs flawlessly but not a true point and click like previous Broken Sword iterations.
With the default Proton version (Hotfix), Proton 9 or Proton GE, the game crashes at startup and displays a UE4 engine crash report. The game runs perfectly using Proton 8 however.
Runs great, a few minor annoyances
This game runs great natively, however I use the Proton version (which also runs great) to avoid a few annoyances. First, when entering the chat wheel (pressing Z or Y), the default line (normally the one at the center of the wheel) is not selected by default, and instead seems to more or less randomly move to the left. Second, some Workshop maps and campaigns are known to be incompatible with the Linux native version and randomly crash. All of this can be avoided by running the Proton version.
Perfect
This worked perfectly out of the box for me, I am surprised to see a "borked" rating by another reviewer. I got an occasional message "invalid graph node" when a level was loading, only stayed on screen for about a second.
Perfect
I played this game long ago on Windows. Now just installed and played a few minutes on Proton and there is no perceptible difference. It seems all Deep Silver games run superbly on Proton.
As another review noted the O button (view objective) does not seem to work, but this does not break gameplay.
Runs flawlessly, highly recommended classic game. Keep in mind Alt + Enter to switch to full screen as mentioned in other reviews.
Runs perfectly
This game runs flawlessly on Proton. Interestingly, I could not run the game on Windows at all (it wouldn't start).
