Occasionally had microstutters/freezing. Once or twice had a hard CTD. Otherwise, very stable if a little low FPS (40 at lowest, 80-100 at highest. Act 3 was the lowest FPS)
Runs well enough
Occasional crackling/choppiness, maybe one out of ten matches has this issue. Not unplayable but definately noticable.
Launches EA Play but loads instantly into the game. Closing the game leaves the wine system tray open for a while with EA play running in the background, but I don't seem to be able to interact with EA Play's launcher at all. I have to stop the game via steam to close it. Otherwise the game runs perfectly.
Runs perfectly on proton GE without any issues
Running without GE works... mostly. There seems to be an intermittant bug where ground textures will unload and the game runs at ~5fps while the character is moving - usually fixed with a restart.
Runs better than native.
Ran flawlessly. At the time of launch I was running on windows with very frequent stuttering/crashing. Dual boot back to linux, no such issues. Out of the box ran perfectly with a much higher average FPS (100-140 on linux vs 90-120 on windows)
Runs fine OOB - Strongly reccomend the widescreen patch
As the game was never developed for widescreen (16:9) it only runs in a 4:3 square in the middle of your screen. I strongly reccomend installing the mod "Sacred ReBorn" and the utility "dgVooDoo 2" which includes the ability to run the game in widescreen and custom resolutions.
Game launches, cannot log in
-windowed -w 1920
Takes several tries to launch the game before it fully loads, but reaching the menu the game will automatically fullscreenitself and the menus are all un-interactable. cannot log in and start playing.
Game crashes shortly after selecting a character/build
Tried on proton GE, experiemental and proton 8, same issue

The installer appears completely black, navigating the installation process is basically a game of memorisation. You will likely need to look up an image of what each page looks like in order to click the buttons.
After installation the game runs just fine, if not better than on windows. No significant issues, and even modding works just fine albiet you have to manage the mods either manually or by running minion in the same wine prefix. I acheived this by renaming the eso.exe to eso.exe.bak and placing the minion.exe into the same folder and naming it eso.exe then you launch the "game" from steam, manage your mod configuration, and rename the .exes back to how they were.
Works like native with a few quirks
DX12 is very buggy/stuttery - this is known as a windows problem as well Game will microstutter very badly for the first 5-10 minutes of in-mission gameplay per session (stops stuttering until game is restarted), again this is usually experienced on windows as well. Changing graphics settings doesn't affect this microstutter window
The launcher is a little glitchly, graphically. The top 25px or so is invisible, but otherwise the launcher works just fine. DX12 is almost borked, it is very stuttery with long frame times and low FPS. This seems to be the case on windows, as well, so perhaps not strictly a proton issue.
If the game is microstuttering in-mission (not in the orbiter) this is pretty much an accepted phenomenon. Been playing for 10 years across multiple platforms including windows console, this occours on all of them. As mentioned the stutters stop after 5-10 minutes and the game remains smooth until it is restarted.
Very infrequently I have had audio issues with some choppiness, maybe a few minutes of choppy audio per 100 hours. I am unsure if this affects other platforms.
