Works out of the box, no tinkering needed
Loading a game/starting a new game takes a lot of time, slowness after a certain size of airport is likely caused by the game itself rather then being run on Linux.
This game is still Early Access as of the time of this contribution. Certain bugs and slowness is due to the game itself. The game runs with Proton fine (at least as of now).
Works without tinkering out of the box so far
Played about 7h in March 2023 and reached >50% achievements without issues
Runs out of the box, no issues so far (>8h gameplay with proton)
Apart from the flickering of graphics (at times), it seems to run fine
Some flickering of the ground (might be an issue for people with tendency to seizures) when on the ground and in certain point of view angles
There were some issues with frame drops (ca. 100 FPS to 60 FPS) when midair and looking around.
Flickering of ground textures seems to happen only when on ground and in certain angles. Flickering can be slight or medium (which might be a problem for people with tendencies to seizures).

Seems to work nearly flawlessly out of the box
Within 14h of game play time, it crashed once and I had to reboot the system (couldn't recover) - I suspect graphic driver failure. However, I was doing several things (in the GUI) at the same time, so I cannot say with absolute certainty that the game was at fault.

Game installed, started and played without tinkering - saving/loading is not an issue, no issues with sound/graphics/latency so far. Looks actually as if this works out of the box just fine.

Only tutorial seems to work out of the box at the moment. It is not possible to start a "new game".
Tutorial seems to work, but staring a "new game" in any mode doesn't work (sound stops and then nothing happens, game doesn't start, staying in the menu)
No issues with graphics, audio or gameplay
Played ranked and ranked practice matches (about 10 altogether, mostly ranked) and had no issues with my connection, audio, graphics or play in general. Seems to work just fine out of the box with steamplay and without tinkering.

Sometimes (not always!) there was an ever so slight inaccurancy with the mouse and the buttons I tried to click - and sometimes a little delay.
