During cutscenes if i use the i3 full screen, parts of the screen become black boxes, but only for the duration of the cutscene. Overall alt tabbing works perfectly
Minimize to tray "works". The app still uses cpu and ram, as per btop, but the system tray icon in the polybar tray module goes invisible, and when i hover my mouse over it, so does the cursor. Cant click on it at all, basically forcing me to close the game forcefully.
From my experience, Proton GE, Bleeding Edge and experimental all work perfectly well, but any other version results in the launcher going black
SteamGameId=582660 NOSTEAM=1 %command%
The BSA used to work properly, along with the Settings Archive and other similar menus. However for the past couple of days regardless of the version of Proton that I use they are completely dead.
Using GE used to be completely fine, but along with the BSA issues, now when I launch the game using Eggroll, I get booted to the PA login screen immediatly, which as a Steam player, I don't have. Makes the game essencially unplayable on GE for me
GE not required, just seemed to have the fastest, most consistent load times
GE not required Mods also work without issue, just that r2modman itself is very buggy on linux. If you install mods manually, you wouldn't notice a difference between windows and the penguin
From my experience the game is basically native
No performence issues, no graphical glitches, no online issues, everything seems to work fine
I coulnd't click on any resolution setting, but by just blindly doodling around i managed to find my resolution. Then everything went fine. Probably an issue due to the rarer 16:10 aspect ratio and i3wm.
I had to use the oldest normally available version of Proton, as per @DCS' instructions. Without that it wouldn't launch at all
Game is basically native. Their implementation of EAC, whose update to a Linux supported version for years, isn't. It's so painful to see.
Messaged Facepunch support about the timeline, instead of getting a "we don't have one" or "it's hard to say" or whatever other PR statements, I got told that it is just straight up unlikely. Really sad man
Basically native
Only hickup I've encountered is that certain mods are not liinux compatible, i.e. huds and viewmodels
WIthout Proton the game barely even attempts to start up, once you turn on Proton though it's back to basically having native-esque poliish. Since repentence randomly dropped linux support, we have to use Proton
