Broken - Does not launch
Crashes immediately when attempting to launch the game.
The game works excellently after some minor tweaks as the new launcher hangs in the initial startup with current Proton. As discussed earlier, need to:
- use GE Proton and enable it from Steam settings. At the time of writing it is Proton-4.19-GE-1.
- modify FFXIV.cfg entry named CutsceneMovieOpening to be value 1.
The new launcher UI introduced in 5.1 has some layout issues and the login screen can be found by scrolling down in the launcher.
Game works, but experiencing performance hits with sudden FPS drops, flickering textures, and crackling sound.
Grass flickering
Add clearcpuid=514 to the kernel launch parameters when playing with AMD Ryzen 3xxx series CPU.
Extremely enjoyable, and stable out of the box experience!
Alt+tabbing out of the game did not work, the game stays on top of all windows.
Defaults of highest graphics settings (1080p) took a toll on the performance a bit, which need a bit of tweaking with e.g. anti aliasing. Medium settings work well with defaults.
Works great. Occasional stuttering can be a concern in the endgame, but other than that, game works really well.
Occasional stuttering when loading new areas, skills, and if mobs suddenly appear from chests etc.
