The game works just as on Windows, you don't even need to install DirectX manually, as I had to do in the Windows version.
I've just set up a Windows virtual machine with PCI passthrough and installed the game on there, it didn't even start because it complained about missing DirectX, so I had to install it manually. After that, the game started, but it crashed after a few seconds of gameplay. I guessed it was some problem with my virtualization setup, so I gave a try with proton instead. The game installed just fine and even better, as I didn't need to to any other extra step as in Windows, but the game crashed just like in windows, after a few seconds of gameplay, just after the menu and the first load screen. The issue wasn't nor my VM nor proton version, but a known bug with OpenSSL and Intel 10th gen CPU or newer, which many games are having lately. So, like in the Windows version, we need to start the game with the following launch options:
OPENSSL_ia32cap=0x20000000 %command%
Besides that, the game runs at maximum (EPIC) quality and no glitches or bugs have been found in a quick test.
Cutscenes are in black. Overall gaming experience is playable.
Game got installed and launched with no issues. A black screen welcomes you and you need to press space bar to pass this screen. This issue seems to be present in all cutscenes so far, so it damages the game immersion. Despite this issue, game works great so far, I didn't face any other issue, not graphical, sound or with controls. There are some micro-lags now and then, but it doesn't affect the game experience at all.
Game doesn't starts
Installs fine, launcher starts, and configuration window appears. But when click on "Play", process suddenly dies. Tried with plenty of proton and wine versions, and launch parameters other people said here, no luck with any of them.
Game didn't started after selecting screen resolution and display, it simply closed. But this is not related to Linux. On the Windows forums I saw it's quite frequent this issue with windows10 and RTX 30 graphic cards. You need to set the launch option
OPENSSL_ia32cap=0x200000200000000 %command%
And the game starts and works flawlessly.
I tried several versions and launch options, no luck at all. Game crashed if steam overlay was opened and at some point, the game freezes and hung. Changing to Proton experimental, everything works just flawlessly. Even at Ultra quality and 2K resolution at 60FPS rock solid.
