The game itself is a bit dated but runs well on Linux but I only got it to work using Proton 7.0-4 version
I have only gotten the game to work on Proton 7.0-4, all the other versions either didn't load or gave a display output error.
This game works very well on Linux, even the game demo works well, just don't click on any URLs.
Sometimes when clicking on an in-game URL, the game would auto load into windowed mode from fullscreen and open the default web browser, so every time you loaded a URL, you would need to change back to fullscreen at the correct resolution.

The in-game URLs also no longer work and instead are redirects to Introversion Software's homepage.
Works really well on Linux, too bad that there is no native Linux version though since it was made using the Unity game engine.
The game may load a DX11 error if using the default proton option or "Proton Unstable"
The game is playable on Linux and the framerate is better than on Windows, however some game elements will crash the game.
Sometimes the game's textures would load incorrectly or load a drastically low-res texture as if it were loading textures from a game from 1994.
Most windows that open outside of the game fail to load properly or at all and this breaks the game's map editor on Linux.
Loading any windows outside of the game will cause the game to crash (e.g. on the main menu, when picking a map, I can click on a map icon to show me a top-down vector view of the game's map but on Linux this crashes the game whereas it does not on Windows 10)
Loading some other parts of the game may randomly cause the game to crash.
Some versions of Proton work but most do not as they lack the windows-specific features of this game, thankfully when development is 100% complete, the devs will port this to Linux.
This game works perfectly on Linux and even had a recent update adding some SteamDeck only features which is a gyroscopic photo mode
This game works 100% on Linux with 0 issues so far as the game runs as if it used a native Linux build. Because this game runs so well on Linux, there is no doubt that this runs well on FreeBSD/NetBSD as BSD-systems emulate the Linux Kernel and as such can run Steam.
The game already has a Linux version and its using Wine/Proton!
This is a mouse-oriented game, expect touchscreens to not be the best input device for this game but I am sure it will work well with a trackpad like what is seen on almost all Laptops and the Valve SteamDeck
I tried multiple versions of Proton including Proton GE but got the same results, a crash from WINE which led to nowhere.
BORKED
If you want to play this game then your best off using Microsoft Windows where I am sure it continues to run flawlessly
