Followed an instruction list for installing a custom Wine Mono version 5.1.1.2_ED - https://gist.github.com/gitvalds/a34c8418e646f3e07a2aa24aa1e9853b
Works great, maybe even better than Windows
Dualshock controllers occasionally have issues being detected or having incorrect button bindings
Some maps dip to ~35 fps
Trying to join a battle against someone would sometimes hang for ~30 seconds until it timed out. This could only be fixed by restarting the game/Steam, which only had a chance to work. Other reports suggest adding ntp
/systemd-timesyncd
, but these did not have any effect.
Massive performance dip when beginning a salvage shift, otherwise fine
When starting a salvage mission, the game will tank my GPU's performance and freeze my computer. If I wait long enough, the issue usually goes away. The issue can also be delayed by quickly turning on the scanner or looking away from the salvage ship when starting the shift.
Horrible performance dip in an otherwise fine game
Text can be hard to read on in-game screens
Game has a serious performance dip (about 1 frame every 10 seconds) when standing on the habitat platform and looking towards the work area. Can be alleviated by turning on the scanner.
Described performance issue occasionally causes enough strain to outright crash my computer
Computer will randomly freeze up and require a hard reboot when playing.
I cannot conclude which part of my system is causing this, but I can confirm that it only happens while playing House of the Dying Sun.

Game runs at roughly 24 average fps on low settings, but this probably isn't due to any issue with Linux specifically.
