If you are running Native open a session to X11 to play this
Laggy inputs under Wayland
Slow frames when running under Wayland, X11 works flawless
Either Wayland is just plain slow or the native build as some performance issue under it.
KDE + NVIDIA + Wayland need to add nvidia.NVreg_EnableGpuFirmware=0 along with the nvidia_drm.modeset=1, tested on proprietary driver.
nvidia.NVreg_EnableGpuFirmware=0 (Kernel cmdline)
Some character not showing in custom usernames of people.
From previous experiment with Wayland vs X11, adding the kernel parameter nvidia.NVreg_EnableGpuFirmware=0 will prevent the issue where frames stuters under Wayland + KDE + Nvidia. This most likely is the bug most people reported to NVIDIA about the GSP firmware. It also allows for better DE smoothness aswell.
If it is too much just launch the game under X11.
Out of the Box experience Press Play and Works tested different in game scripted scenes. Used Proton 9.0-2, woudn't launch on Experimental.
I might change this report since this was smaller test for the moment 30 minutes. Loaded the Nomad Life path save i had Proceded to play trough the Jackie scripted scenes and appartment mission
mangohud PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
Sometimes the game boot and you taskbar remains visible mostly following a reboot after crash
Frames Dropping even though i get 80-110FPS easy
Yes, but mostly XWayland will sometimes crash before the game
I'll be willing to retry other options i look at this page often if you had something similar and you figured it out post a review with your settings. As of now all the people's "working" options haven't for me.
Proton out of box experience
Make sure you atleast activate Proton for this game has looks like it has a Linux build but when booting there is decent enviroment degredation and missing texture on UI. Using Proton 9.X saw no issues Menu/Gameplay. Only thing not tested were initial game cinematics.
Got one bug on regular Proton the game would hang sometimes on generating Seed. Not sure if its the fault of Proton or the game itself.
Curiousity test since there was not previous reports
Booted, Loaded a save at the bar and completed level. No apparent issue was found. I wont test further since i already completed the game before.
NVIDIA 550.X driver specific in game flickering/distortion running it a 144Hz go to 120Hz to avoid this experience.
Proton 9.0-2 works fine no need to switch
Small test session with no thinkering at all reveal a solid game through the playtime i had
Slight crackling at the beginning doesn't seems to be that much apparent overall
Minor performance when entering Deimos (The only zone i tested)
Overall Solid
