Changed the line 64BitExe=ArmaReforger.exe
to 64BitExe=ArmaReforgerSteam.exe
in the battleye/BELauncher.ini
file.
Smoke effects in particular slow down the game slightly
Requires Proton BattleEye Runtime to be installed.
If you use DXVK in place of Vulkan, you won't notice any difference running this game vs on Windows.
gamemoderun %command% --skip-launcher
When using Vulkan, you might see issues with alt-tabbing, however with DXVK those issues do not appear.
With DXVK, the game is very stable, however with Vulkan the game will crash intermittently, and will hang almost every time you start up the game or alt-tab.
I've seen a bunch of people suggesting that you edit the launcher configuration file, or use sed in the Steam launch options.
If you have a new enough version of Proton (Either Hotfix or Experimental iirc) you should just need to select DirectX11 (or Vulkan if you want) once.
After that, relaunch the game with the --skip-launcher
flag in your launch options. e.g. gamemoderun %command% --skip-launcher
The game will launch with your selection of graphics API.
Craps out after opening the game window.
This happens on Windows as well, will investigate further
Works well with ESYNC disabled
Ingame overlay causes game to freeze visually.
Proton-5.9-GE-3-ST GloriousEggroll
Had to manually install the Rockstar Games Launcher via protontricks/winetricks. After this the game launches and works great!
Framerate is significantly lower after Alt-Tabbing.
Alt-Tabbing out of the game breaks controller input.
The standard ~20% performance hit. Ensure you have a proton build that has esync enabled for best performance.
Plays well OOTB with Proton Experimental.
No rumble with an Xbox One Controller.
Performance in Singleplayer is good. Multiplayer performance is lower than singleplayer by quite a bit (in or around 60 FPS)
Make sure you install this on an ext4 partition as NTFS ones cause issues with installing Social Club.
I am not very good with a controller, however the game was smooth.
Setting the minimum and maximum framerate to 50, as well as setting the refreshrate to 50 gives a good result.
On the Deck or with a controller at least; this game runs well with no visual bugs to speak of and minimal stuttering.
Installed d3dcompiler_43 and d3dcompiler_47
Mouse input in this game has issues when the polling rate is above 250Hz. Check out the 'Stuttering caused by the mouse' section in the following Steam guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2893202652
Launch the game one time in Game mode, and then go into Desktop mode to set up protontricks, avoids having to plug in a mouse and keyboard to alt-tab the blank game window otherwise.
Game crashes, cites PhysX error.
Hopefully this will be fixed when Proton merges with Wine Staging.
Works OOTB on Proton Experimental, seems to not be affected by low FPS issues that Windows experiences with the Origin Overlay.
Issues in regards to the PhysX installer are now gone.
This game has native support, however if running via proton is needed for some reason, it works well.
Having to change versions of Proton to use the launcher to login is not straightforward for the typical gamer.
Needed to use Proton-6.20-GE-1 to view the launcher, had to use Proton Experimental and the Battleye Runtime to run the game (After guessing where the play now button is on a white broken window).
Slightly lower framerate compared to Windows, but this game is not known for high framerates.
Seems to work now that the Battleye Runtime is available.
Unknown if Battleye should work or not, but still seems to be working after it has stopped working for various other Battleye games.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES=libglesv2= %command%
Ensure the Proton BattleEye Runtime is installed.
Adding WINEDLLOVERRIDES=libglesv2=
solves the white launcher issue.
BattleEye boots you from the game after 30-50 seconds
gamemoderun %command%
The game would not launch without the 'Proton BattleEye Runtime' installed
After completing the tutorial, you will be booted after about 30 seconds, this used to happen in the Station as well but they changed it to be 'single-player only' recently and now you only get booted after dropping.
