Works fine out of the box. Early access game needs some work but nothing to do with linux for me.
The game currently has some performance issues but based ont he reviews and steam discussions, this seems to be a universal experience. After playing with the graphics settings a bit, setting it to mostly high with some medium and so on, I was able to get a good experience at about 70 fps. In general the game feels a bit rough but as said in the summary, that's not related to linux - just it being early access. Hopefully devs keep at it :)
Game works fine. Mouse doesn't show up but that's true under windows too - the game is designed with just keyboard in mind.
Couldn't get it to run but a steam user gave instructions to someone else so sharing them here...
Right click on Proton Experimental in your library and go to properties. Select "Betas" and set it to use the one listed as "Bleeding-Edge Latest" (do NOT use bleeing-edge_8.0 - that won't work). Once done let it update, then set hunt to use Proton Experimental and it should all work.
I was stuck with a black screen and then the game would close a few seconds later until doing this, but now it runs great!
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Randomly flickers - not enough to make the game unplayable, but a minor annoyance.
The game wouldn't launch out of the box under many versions of proton. Eventually got it to load with the launch options. Would occassionally flicker but it was absolutely tolerable. pretty chill game so far
You need to use proton 7.0.6 to get by the privacy agreement. But after that 7.0.6 causes huge stuttering issues. Switch back to a newer version after you get inot the game enough to save. I found GE-9.7 to work great after the privacy agreement.
Set the game to use Proton 7.0.6 so that you can actually agree to the privacy agreement and start playing. After a few minutes (long enough to save your progress), back out and change to GE 9.7 instead to relieve the stuttering that happens. Seems to be good after that :)
Used this script with wine GE 8-13 specifically as that's what the script was made for - other versions did NOT work. https://lutris.net/games/install/37660/view
I could not get the steam version to work with multiple version of proton, ge proton, etc. I also tried lutris with multiple versions of runners and it didn't work except for the script linked with wine ge 8-13. Works great then though!
At launch, theres a lot of performance issues and stuff in the game that needs some more love. But that's nothing to do with what OS you are playing it under. In general, game works great on linux and mods are also working fine.
MANGOHUD=1 gamemoderun %command%
Game works absolutely fine under linux. As a game it has performance/optimization issues and a bunch of bugs - but that's equally true under windows too
Amazingly well made game that runs perfectly with minimal effort. I'd assume the steam version will be the same when it launches!
