Outside of the significant launch codes necessary to make it work and infrequent crashes, it's fine.

Some sections are improperly lit, not as noticeable with Bloom disabled.
Infrequent crashes while playing the game. These happen in different places and in different situations.
The player driven Markeplace (auction house) doesn't display the preview on the right side pane as it should.

Still crashes occasionally.
EasyAntiCheat requires the game to be launched via the runtime or it will complain about an unregistered executable (APB.exe). Running it with the launch options above (thank you to @telqor on Github) works around the issue.
With the latest (05/05/2023) Experimental and an ini tweak, it works without the need for launch codes
In .../steamapps/common/APB Reloaded/APBGame/Config/APBMachineOptions.ini add the following two lines to the end of the file:
[LoginSettings]
bUseSteamLogin=False
Still crashes occasionally
SARD - Kernel Level Anti-Cheat
Unfortunately they've introduced a kernel level anti-cheat solution from SARD and this has made it so the game no longer works.
A truly out of the box experience.
My save game with about 12hours of progress was seemingly deleted from Steam Cloud and I couldn't recover it. Steam Support claimed they can't restore cloud saves.
Initial cutscenes may require mfplat. Clicking to skip it allows you to see the menu.
Minimizing the window seems to soft lock the game.
Almost perfect experience out of the box, except it's missing the intro cutscene.
With a DualShock 4 you will need to enable Steam Input for buttons to be registered correctly.
Intro cutscene does not play, as it requires MF. This is disabled by default Proton. With Proton GE you can see the intro cutscene but the sound will skip at certain points.
Using Proton 9 the cutscenes would stutter and skip constantly. Changing to Experimental seems to work around the issues.
New illumination is broken and will cause colour artifacting.
Open '.../steamapps/compatdata/362490/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Application Data/Exanima/Exanima.ini' and add 'GILowPrecision = 1'
Fully playable once you modify the config file.
Game was never properly finished. What is there works as well on Linux and it does on Windows.
Can't rebind controls in game.
Works out of the box with Proton Experimental (26/12/21)
You can't play past a certain point in the Tutorial since the screen goes black.
It launches into a black screen but clicking allows you to see the loading and menu screens. After reaching a certain point in the Tutorial mission the screen goes black and I couldn't see what was happening. The game seems to still be working as it reacts to input and I can hear the feedback sounds but it's completely black.
Even with a Ryzen 7 3700X and GTX 1080, at 2560x1440 I was getting under 60 FPS on anything but Low settings.
Playable with a few issues and occasional crashes
It generates a lot (multiple times a second) of buffer overrun messages in journalctl while in game proper: "jan 31 20:44:53 Desktop pipewire-pulse[4654]: mod.protocol-pulse: 0x560af99fb900: [New World] overrun recover read:152838144 avail:32768 max:15360 skip:28928"
Will crash occasionally at seemingly random places and times. Usually crashes within two hours of playing the game.
New version comes with an engine update which fixes most issues.
The mouse cursor in the menu now moves correctly and the notable performance drops in bigger levels seem to be far less common.
Runs well out of the box; 70-80FPS mostly, with dips to the 40s in towns. No intro videos. Controllers work out of the box.
Alt-Tabbing will cause a soft lock if the game is in fullscreen. Windowed or borderless will work as expected. Borderless still displays borders with some desktop environments.
Game will freeze when quitting. Killing it either via Steam or system monitor works and the autosave is kept.
The in-game music doesn't play.
Setting the game to GLide2 breaks when pausing in the middle or finishing a race. The menu doesn't appear when it's supposed to. Everything works fine in Software mode.
First launch the sound worked but not video. Second launch worked as expected.
First launch it was all black but launching a second time made it work.
Had to force enable Steam Input for my DualShock 4 to work.
The game kept crashing for me. The only way I found to stop it was to lock the framerate via the UserSettings.txt file: .../steamapps/compatdata/306130/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/UserSettings.txt
