When switching to another window, exits fullscreen. When switching back to the game, enters fullscreen but doesn't cover the full width. Exiting and re-entering fullscreen or switching to another resolution and back fixes the issue. Tested only on Sway WM.
--skip-launcher
Set fps limit to increase battery performance but it doesn't make a significant difference.
Default font size was uncomfortable to read for me, but not impossible. The game offers settings to increase font size to comfortable levels.
Some common graphics modifications, like removing the 60fps cap, can only be done by modifying the game's BmEngine.ini and making it read-only to avoid the game overriding it.
pcgamingwiki.com has an overview of the options and instructions to modify them here.
The game has a frame limit in settings that cannot be set to higher than 30fps or disabled.
gamescope -H 1440 -h 1440 -W 2560 -w 2560 --adaptive-sync -e "$@" %command%
Segfaults immediately upon launch without gamescope
Fails to start. In addition to the default Proton version I tested every Proton >=6 included in Steam and GE-Proton9-7.

Sometimes freezes indefinitely when switching to other windows on Sway WM.
Tried both the vanilla game and the Memoria engine and both run great. The Memoria installer was confused with Proton-GE so I had to make sure to use regular Proton for the installation to work.

Ray-tracing sometimes produces weird multi-colored flickering. The colors seem unrelated to the reflected objects so it's not regular ray-tracing noise. Don't know if this is a proton-specific issue.
Occasionally freezes for 5-10 seconds to load assets. Happened ~5 times in the entirety of the game.
The disappearing sprites & crash is annoying, but infrequent enough to not ruin the game for me.
gamescope -H 1440 -h 1440 -W 2560 -w 2560 --adaptive-sync -e %command%
Occasionally character sprites disappear, seems to happen after playing for some time (>1h)
Fullscreen only works with gamescope
After a character sprite dissappears, opening the menu causes a crash. Has never crashed under other circumstances.

When running with max fps set to 240 (using https://github.com/Lahvuun/sekirofpsunlock), the game occasionally stutters badly. Seems to happen only for specific enemy moves. To put it into numbers, from an average of 180+ (depending on location), the 1% lows are 60fps. Perhaps the number is not random and the performance degrades to the original 60fps specifically. Graphical settings appear to have no effect.
With Proton-GE it starts but runs terribly. Native version (which seems to be unlisted) crashes at startup most of the time.
The entire game feels laggy. Whenever I move a piece, it looks like it's dragging behind where I'm moving my mouse.
The native version worked for me at first, it but it keeps crashing ever since. Its performance was normal so I would definitely play it if the crash issue got fixed or I could find a workaround. On Proton it's so laggy that I found it unplayable.
I only played A Thief's End. It ran great throughout the entire game and the only problems where very rare crashes.
gamemoderun %command%
Crashed once or twice during the entire playthrough
