Game works great if the changes are made that others on here have suggested. These config tweaks aren't for the faint of heart though.

set StormInput.ini option on MouseSensitivity=10.0
Movies don't work and requires mf-install. Follow the directions of others on this list.
As long as you adjust the mouse sensitivity, disable FMVs using -nostartupmovies and use GE 7.3-1 it will be a very smooth experience.

Mouse works great, just set StormInput.ini option on MouseSensitivity=10.0
- Force proton version 4.11-3
- run the game once, let it crash
- run protontricks 269330 dotnet20 dotnet40
- once proton tricks hangs for a very very very long time then kill all processes with: ps ax | grep 'C:\windows\system32\winedevice.exe'
- finish the installation. It will make it nearly all the way through but still not 100% complete.. this is ok
- Run game!
Doesn't cleanly exit. Had to press the "Stop" button in Steam. Works well enough though

The most horrendous screen tearing I believe I have seen in a game rated "Gold" on protondb
Had to reduce the resolution to 540p to reduce the stutters enough to be somewhat playable
The game does not cleanly close when quitting.
Frequent pauses
I wouldn't recommend the game under proton at this time.
Install fluidsynth and then add the following Steam launch options in properties systemctl --user start fluidsynth; %command%; pkill -15 fluidsynth
Without fluidsynch or some form of midi server, there is no music. These launch options ensure that fluidsyth is only run when running the game.
