Note: If the `dotnet40` installer fails, set the Windows version to `winxp`, install `dotnet40` and then set it back to `win7`.
installed dotnet40
from protontricks
. Also set the Windows version to win7
.
Adding `%command% -h 1080 -w 1920` is recommended, `-h` and `-w` values depends on your preferred resolution.
The resolution was too low for normal functions.
Did have to try this several times, but when the necessary application installers came, I knew it would work beyond that point. If you experience the same issue where nothing happens when you launch the game for the first time, like no DirectX installer or anything, make sure you have permissions for the drive you put the game in. Also I tried to emulate a virtual desktop using winecfg for the Proton config for this game at 1024x768 resolution. When it worked, I just disabled it. One more thing to note that all of a sudden the mouse stopped working mid-game, so I was unable to move the camera. The mouse still works in the system, the game just does not pick it up. Other than that, the game is playable with no performance drops other than having to wait for some time during each startup.
Runs perfectly out of the box, in both Valve approved 3.16-9 and the latest 4.11-3 Proton versions.
It works out of the box, despite the missing file errors during the first installation process. Adding "PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 %command%" (without the quotes) to the launch options will enable D9VK and make the game run as fast as it runs in Windows. However, with D9VK enabled, the DLCs -the "games" that you can acess from "Switch Game" option from the main menu- will crash. When you want to play the DLCs just change the launch option with this: "PROTON_USE_D9VK=0 %command%" (without the quotes again) to disable the D9VK for the time being. After you are done with DLCs, I recommend you to re-enable D9VK as the performance loss that you get without D9VK is annoying at times. I didn't try Workshop content.
