Excellent Experience
Sometimes, I had disconnects, but it's probably a game issue, not an issue with Proton
As a note, don't use WINED3D since while the game launches, Steam Overlay and input don't work
If you use Custom Shader Patch, be sure to override dwrite.dll with "native, built-in" by using Protontricks and using winecfg on Assetto Corsa's prefix
If you use Content Manager, rename Assetto Corsa's executable as "AssettoCorsa_original.exe" and drop in Content Manager's executable and rename it as "AssettoCorsa.exe". Once done, you need to disable hardware acceleration to prevent black boxes from appearing.
Use GE-Proton, let it run for awhile to install dependencies, swap Assetto Corsa's executable for Content Manager's, and enjoy!
Game is broken due to Ricochet Anti-Cheat
Flawless on Linux
Cap at 30 FPS
Stuttering that happens on all systems, no matter the specs
Just following this guide and you'll be able to play: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2787044978
Just follow the guide I link and you'll be playing
Note that you need to use Experimental or GE, otherwise the Epic Overlay won't be available.
Sometimes crashed when pressing play in title menu. Was able to play for 39 minutes before game locked up (frozen, but audio continued)
Provided they're willing to deal with some minor, but manageable issues, it is a great experience.
Limit FPS to 40
I had one instance of text that I had to look very closely at to read
Videos don't play in Gaming mode if fullscreen is enabled. Does not occur in desktop mode
Sometimes, the controller input stops working after 20 minutes. This can be worked around by bringing up the on screen keyboard when it occurs, pressing v, putting off the on screen keyboard and select an option from that. Do this multiple times.
Sometimes when loading into the game, it will crash. If it does not, the game works fine afterwards
Crashes mainly seem to happen if I have anything else open
FPS cap doesn't work and stuttering is frequent when driving at high speeds
Still buggy, and the stuttering and buggy FPS cap makes me wonder why it's even verified for Deck.
Game crashes on launch :(
I opened an issue on Github on this
It just doesn't launch
I get the error "Failed to create DirectX 12 Device for the following adapter:".
I can click on "Continue", but it just pops up once again. I click on it, but this time, it crashes
Game requires GE Proton and removing/renaming video files. Even then, the game doesn't render anything correctly.
I renamed the video files
3D geometry/textures don't render
Geometry/textures don't render currently, and entering training only gave me a black screen.
Black screen
Practically unplayable
I had one system lockup with this game, but it hasn't happened again
Just update your Mesa driver to 22.2.0 and it works like a dream
With native, the game had artifacts in some areas
Great experience! Just avoid the native version
VKD3D_CONFIG=force_initial_transition %command%
You need Mesa 22.3 or later to play the game enjoyably. Older versions have graphical issues
VKD3D_CONFIG=force_initial_transition %command% -nolauncher
After finishing missions, the game slows down till I stop and do nothing
Aside from the little driver warning you get when starting up the game, it runs like native.
I'm on PopOS and I can enter workspaces on other games. Mulitversus for some reason locks you, but sometimes you can enter workspaces
On my first try, after a couple matches, I would get disconnected from the match. I don't know if it was anti-cheat related or not, but restarting fixed it.
On my first try, I would get removed from matches after a playing a couple ones successfully, but restarting fixed it. I played another session and I didn't get kicked at all
Both regular Proton and GE work, but I just selected GE because I sometimes I use it
Anti-cheat isn't letting me in
Even if the game now works with Proton Experimental, the anti-cheat still isn't working
Game crashes shortly after selecting my character
Game is bugged on Intel Iris Xe Graphics. I don't know if it is a good or Mesa driver issue.
You need to use SteamOS preview to avoid this
Game optimization sucks
It crashes everytime I exit
Music isn't very quiet
Graphics don't show up, even on Windows native
I encountered one crash
This game is completely broken on PC, developers ditched game so probably won't get fixed
Considering this is abandonware where it's practically unplayable and even the online services don't work anymore, this isn't worth the time
Music is almost completely mute, but sound effects work fine
Graphics do not show up when playing a world
I didn't encounter crashes on my Steam Deck, but my PC did encounter a couple crashes that result in a BugSplat error reporting window
Game is completely borked on Steam Deck, Linux, Windows, whatever
Asside from the stability bugs, which also happen on Windows, this game is a fun way to kill time
Occansionally crashes by moving window out of focus
