As a console matching experience for zombies, as it is right now, Black Ops III is perfectly fine.
No workshop content showed up in game
I have not tried campaign or multiplayer, but zombies works fine, however no workshop content loads. I imagine it has to do with the game not knowing where to look for the content, as it has installed properly but maybe doesnt have access to the location. I could not say for sure
provided you're on a pc that can bruteforce the fps a bit more than on windows ,you will be fine, still as fun as it was years ago
for cod:WaW you need to enable controller in the start options "exec default_controller.cfg" this is regardless of OS mouse sensitivity may be a bit off, will require tinkering with settings
black screens before loading sometimes, somewhat worse fps given the age of the game (still over 60fps) tabbing out or using the steam shift+tab menu can be a little delayed
ensure that the proton version is selected for install, other than that it will run just fine
tutorial videos do not appear
You may find that whilst the game had a linux version in the past, it has been delisted, this is fine but you might find that steam has installed the old linux version of the game, which will not work for multiplayer, just go into the properties and select proton install, otherwise you'll run into an "incompatible version" error upon trying to join friends, although the version numbers will be the same
Crashes after black window, seems to be once the overlay tries to load
I tried the deleting IGO64.dll to prevent Origin Overlay from running, but it didnt work. to my knowledge the only thing preventing it from running, crashed on black wndow
I tried everything, running the origin via the same prefix, but any changes via origin is ignored by steam. Deleting IGO64.dll didnt work either. Hopefully its addressed soon
create a dxvk.conf file with text "dxgi.customVendorId = 1c06"
Create a dxvk.conf file in dir ../steamapps/common/PVZGW2/ with text "dxgi.customVendorId = 1c06" inside. once you've done that it works fine. I believe this is required for AMD users
Game runs fine, expect to maybe lower graphics a tad, takes a few seconds to start up
opening takes just a tad longer than you might expect, ran slightly slower than i was expecting, but a lowered resolution fixed the issues, not entirely sure if my expectations were too high (1280x800 instead of 1920x1200)
instantly crashes, no window
no indication of game getting very far on starting, no window or anything. after pressing play it says i'm playing the game before profile goes back to blue and the game goes from 'stop' to 'start'
