A set of hard to navigate and fill-out screens while creating an Xbox Account and linking it to the Steam account. Only happens at the first start of the game.
Sometimes the game gets frozen up completely for more than a minute. It completely freezes the Steam Deck too so you cannot even kill it using the Steam button. When it works, it performs OK with the default settings.
The game crashes randomly and fairly often. Restarting the game is slow and requires navigating through a lot of screens so this is very annoying. Sometimes it takes 3 attempts just to launch the game. Barely tolerable.
Not recommended in its current state. Way too many crashes and freezups to be enjoyable.
The Origin launcher starts up pretty slow on my system and pretty unreliable (sometimes even requires killing wine processes...etc)
Download went fine but the installation was very hard and confusing.
Switching between multiple Proton versions did it finally but I am not sure which version did what.
I think the initial installer only finished with Proton 6.8-GE-2 (Glorious Eggroll). Of course, the Origin launcher is responsible. I hope Steam gets rid of it at some point.
The game itself now runs with Proton 6.19-GE-2
After the game starts, it seems to work fine (I only tried ME1). Even my Logitech F310 controller seems to be working OK)
All 3 games played in full (+DLCs) without much issues on old hardware

I played all 3 games with all of their DLCs and enjoyed them very much.
Warning: KDE multi-monitor bug: Unless I disable all of my non-primary monitors, the game won't start. I am not sure if this is the fault of KDE or the game (or Proton). I re-enable the second screen right after the actual game was successfully started from the central legendary launcher.
As you can see my hw is pretty old but the games performed pretty well on it. The Logitech controller worked without a hitch too in all 3 games.
all texts in the cocpit are very small on the Deck's 7 inch screen.
Sometimes, part of the background audio gets stuck and plays constantly. You can only fix this be restarting the game (which can be quickly done, luckily)
The options screen is unusable during missions (massive artifacts, unreadable) So, you can only configure things before you start a mission.
Saving locally works fine. However saves are not properly copied to the cloud and will not be copied to other machines (if you play on multiple machines) If you start on a new machine, you need to start the game from scratch (or you manually copy the save files over)
I have played through the first chapter without any real issues (to the point when the Azameen family if forced to flee to the Rebellion).
I played with a joystick, external monitor and keyboard because the many commands that are needed are not possible to map to a controller or joystick. I have NOT tested the game with the controller of the Deck (and I do not think it would work great with this game).
The Thrustmaster T16000M joystick works very well with the game (even the roll when you twist the joystick) but you can only map 2/3 of the buttons of the base and the thrust slider is not detected (not needed, you will want to use the thruster setting keys anyways)
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Only happens after the in-game menu is opened and then you go back to play. Sometimes it reverts back to normal (fast) state after a second menu opening+closing. If it doesn't help, you have to restart the game.
40 fps / 40 hz
Knowledge entries were hard to read on the Deck
Dathomir was slightly choppier than the other planets. Still enjoyable and not a big issue.
Randomly, not often.
It doesn't start now at all (used to work)
The Steam version is now completely borked, even though it has been working fairly well before on my Tumbleweed desktop.
After a game update, it now doesn't start anymore. None of the Proton versions help it. I have tried:
- Current default proton
- Current Proton Experimental
- Latest GE 9.5
I am pretty sure that EA is responsible again with their super-shitty and generally useless EA app.
It is absolutely enjoyable but graphical details cannot by very high on my old RX580
Crackling seems to be only present during game boot/startup animations and not present during actual gameplay
I have only played a couple of missions in the story and a lot of practice in the training grounds. Thrustmaster T16000M joystick works great with the game.
The intro stutters heavily when the game loads. Actual gameplay is smooth.
3-player co-op works great
Medium artifacts, randomly. Sometimes vertical lines. Maybe a bit less after switching to "Very High" quality in the options.
Split screen seems to work fine with two USB controllers (Logitech F310). Didn't try LAN multiplayer.
Absolute blast (literally), enjoyed it very much.
