Small text in the map and item menus are in a font that is hard to read even on a regular gaming computer.
I wish I knew why other people report no problems when I actually cannot play the game at all
The game would never recognize the default controller (ie. the Steam Deck itself) and always defaulted to keyboard controls, with no button inputs ever reading. It only recognizes external controllers.
Has "Made for Handheld Gaming" written all over it
Worth noting that although the game has full controller support, it will only display keyboard inputs. Additionally, there is one optional achievement that requires the use of a keyboard, although the Steam Deck's virtual keyboard works with no issue.
When first launched, the game's resolution was set to 1920x1080 by default and zoomed in - changing the screen resolution in-game to 1280x720 solved that issue.
When playing the game in default compatibility mode, in-game text was completely invisible.
This report was made using the Next Fest demo version, and the problems reported could be fixed on full release.
The game would not recognize the controller input for opening and closing the collectibles screen, so I had to map the Y button to the respective keyboard input.
Been playing it since steam release just perfectly, had to write my report after steam claimed it was unsupported!
By default, the game boots in fullscreen, which stretches the aspect ratio. To resolve this, simply change to windowed mode in settings.
While the entire game is playable with a controller, the quit button is mapped exclusively to the keyboard.
When playing on Steam's recommended settings, the game only runs properly the first time. After that, it will crash consistently within seconds of starting.
The small screen size on the steam deck does not suit this game especially well.
Only worth it if you can tolerate frequent lag - and really, in a game like this, you shouldn't tolerate any lag.
Noticeable stuttering during cutscenes. Long load times during scene transitions, including loading the game over screen. Game would freeze for a second whenever I unlocked a new achievement, or whenever I built up a combo of 100 hits.
No crashes, but plenty of aforementioned stuttering and lag.
Best played in first person mode, though that's just personal preference
There are complaints on the store page of save corrupting bugs. I did not experience any running the game on default settings, but keep it in mind just in case.

When running the SADX Mod Loader, the mod's upscaled FMV cutscenes would not play until I found the correct version of Proton to run. Use the one I have listed.
