Too much tinkering. Didn't get scenarios working because of performance issues. Tried the Linux native buid, but gave up during loading.

Occational stuttering
There are only minor occational stuttering after I switched to GE-Proton7-9. The stuttering was a little annoying before switching.
Had to change the driver from nvidia-driver-495 to nvidia-driver-470 (tested) in Ubuntu to get rid of black startup screen. Changed to Proton 6.3-8. Disabled repeating keys in Universal Access in Gnome.
I'm able to start the game with Intel GPU. Not nVidia
I've tried everything mentioned. Managed to get the game running on my nVidia eGPU twice, but it didn't work after a reboot and I initially gave up. It works when using my Intel GPU.

Switch to Proton Experimental. Works perfectly!
Absolutely no problems playing this game on Steam Deck of Linux.
The controls are great on Steam Deck. I actually love playing this on the Deck a lot more than on PC. They have done a very good job of optimizing the controls on the Deck.
