Switch to 8.0-4 for the best experience
Using experimental results in the UI not recognizing mouse clicks. 8.0-4 works without issue.
Tried with the following: -GE -Proton Experimental -Proton 8 -Proton 7
Not sure why this game has a high compatibility rating. It will not load with any version of proton.
Waited about a minute after clicking play but it did eventually launch. Played for about an hour with no issues.
Their Linux client will be discontinued so the use of proton is required but it runs well.

The online experience could be acceptable if it didnt freeze so often. There are desyncs sometimes but they are bearable.
If the freezing/crashing is fixed it would be playable
The game itself has significant issues but they are unrelated to the ability to play it on linux using proton.
Its hard to say about the functionality since the game inherently has issues. As far as linux playability though this game works with no tinkering.
If the game had no issues inherently such as lag and crashing I believe this game would run with almost no additional tinkering aside from using GE Proton. I assume steam is already working on fixes for experimental though so its possible in the near future GE wont even be needed. Currently the latest GE is the only version that prevents freezing and crashing for me.
Voice chat wont work with any input option in the settings

The online issues are getting better but the random freezing makes it unplayable.
I will have to wait for either a steam proton update or a GE update to resolve the random crashing.
Disable ESync and FSync
I am going to give this an "Acceptable" rating for how awful the servers are still. Until they fix the server issues we really cant tell how good the functionality is in regard to proton.
After disabling those two settings I was finally able to complete several matches without my client crashing.
Most users suggest to switch back to a new proton version after getting loaded in past the TOS screen but I found doing that will cause my GPU to drop from max clock speeds to ~30MHz every few seconds. I found that when staying on the 7.0.6 proton the game plays extremely well even on ultra settings. Dont make any other chages and try 7.0.6.
