works good enough, no crash's
Overall performance is poor, but according to Steam discussions that is on Windows too. Problems with this game come from the game itself. No region selection - you may enter games where you have 250ms ping. :/ Switching to experimental made it run without major problems.
Disable ESync and FSync
I am going to give this an "Acceptable" rating for how awful the servers are still. Until they fix the server issues we really cant tell how good the functionality is in regard to proton.
After disabling those two settings I was finally able to complete several matches without my client crashing.
Voice chat wont work with any input option in the settings
Game will randomly freeze
The online issues are getting better but the random freezing makes it unplayable.
I will have to wait for either a steam proton update or a GE update to resolve the random crashing.
Game would not launch with proton experimental. Had to use GE Proton
Would freeze occasionally. Once got stuck in a loop of constant freezing and had to restart.

The game itself has significant issues but they are unrelated to the ability to play it on linux using proton.
Its hard to say about the functionality since the game inherently has issues. As far as linux playability though this game works with no tinkering.
If the game had no issues inherently such as lag and crashing I believe this game would run with almost no additional tinkering aside from using GE Proton. I assume steam is already working on fixes for experimental though so its possible in the near future GE wont even be needed. Currently the latest GE is the only version that prevents freezing and crashing for me.

The online experience could be acceptable if it didnt freeze so often. There are desyncs sometimes but they are bearable.
If the freezing/crashing is fixed it would be playable
