Everything works out of the box, except that online functionality (leaderboards etc) does not work on Proton v7.0 - game reports it is unable to login to Racenet. Switching to Proton 6.3 fixes that problem.
My GPU is getting old and slow, but game still seems pretty unoptimized. Runs acceptably on low settings in 1920x800.
Worked out of the box using Proton Experimental. First startup took a pretty long time, and game was a slideshow with the default graphics settings. After fixing the graphics settings I managed to play enough to experience a couple of huge falls, so I guess game is working as intended.
I had no problems at all playing some casual online games for a couple of hours. Everything seems to work and performance is good.
Worked out of the box for me
Crashed to desktop once during ~8 hours of play
Got stuck in an NPC dialog once and had to reload last save
Really no major issues except that one crash. The player character also clipped through surfaces a couple of times causing unpredictable behavior, and some mission objectives seemed slightly wonky. Perfectly playable in its current state, and performance is pretty good.
Crashes every time during startup at EA logo if Fanatec CSL DD connected when using regular Proton
Some stuttering here and there, which seems to be a "feature" of this game currently. FPS is mostly ok.
Game seems to works fine without tinkering with Proton for me, unless using a Fanatec CSL DD. In that case it crashes during startup when wheel is connected, unless specific Proton-GE versions are used. GE-Proton8-20 and -21 works for me, -22 does not. Regular proton (stable and experimental) does not work.
With the right Proton version it works absolutely fine, except for the small performance issues mentioned.
