Would last only 5 minutes in multiplayer.
Crashes too often, I wanted to play death match but it would crash every 5 minutes.
I tried native, valve proton, and GE proton each would crash.

Performance was not onpar. It ran around 50-80 fps which isn't bad, but in some cases it would drop to 35 to 45fps. Usually this would occur in intense battles and on servers with a high amount of players.
Multiplayer is the only option in this game. Multiplayer is okay, but with high ping and occasional high ping spikes. These high ping spikes usually occur on every server I played and varies from server to server. This problem even happens on Windows 10, it might actually just be the game itself and not Linux/Proton.
Overall the experience was ok, but performance needs improvement.
No config needed and worked out of the box.
The game did not start in full screen and I had to make it in full screen.
Changed first line in the graphics configuration file
(in ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/508980/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Local\ Settings/Application\ Data/Crashday/config/graphics.config)
from
"FSAA": 2
to
"FSAA": 0
as per @siniyby's instructions.
Worked flawlessly without any configurations. The performance was excellent.
No problems.
The game worked as intended no crashes or major glitches. The only glitch I encountered was the difficulty being set really high a few times, after a while this glitch wouldn't happen. This might just be an issue with the game and not related to Proton/Linux.

I used Proton GE https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases
Using Bordless/Bordered Windowed mode and lowering graphics settings helped significantly.
The overall experience was alright. To access the menu I was required to use a lua menu. Garry's Mod worked a lot better with these tweaks.
- Install Glorious Eggroll Proton. (https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases)
- After that right click Gmod and select GE Proton.
- Go to betas and select x86-64.
- Install Gmod and Launch the game.
- Alt tab and quit GMOD.
- Install LUA Menu. (https://github.com/robotboy655/gmod-lua-menu)
- Launch Gmod and go to settings and set the window to borderless. Also, lower your graphic settings this will increase FPS and stability.
These exact steps worked on my setup. With my low end hardware, I was able to get a solid 50-70 fps on a heavily modded multiplayer server.
