Run without problems on Zorin OS 17.2 (Gnome Desktop), is definitely a platinum experience on Linux, both SteamDeck and Xbox controllers also works out-of-the-box with now problems.
The game is not playable for now (not for immutable distros)
The game is not playable for now because are not opening. The reason for this is that despite being a native Linux build, the binary that the Steam client searches for to start the game is called "Asleep.x86_64" ([path]../Steam/steamapps/common/Asleep/Asleep.x86_64), but the binary installed in the directory for Linux builds is called "Asleep 1.9.6 Linux.x86_64" ([path]../Steam/steamapps/common/Asleep/). Because I'm using an immutable distro based on Fedora Kinoite KDE (Bazzite from Universal Blue Project), this is my path to the Steam installation: "/var/home/my-user/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Asleep" It's worth remembering that SteamOS (and Steam Deck) is also an immutable distro, so this problem can also (possibly) occur on the platform. One possible solution is to run the binary directly from the game's installation directory, but for me it crashes after the Unity logo appears. Maybe this is related to the same problem.
Unfortunately, nothing I tried helped with the audio and video synchronization during dialogues in both cutscenes and in-game.
PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 gamemoderun %command% /WineDetectionEnabled:False
Both in cutscenes and in-game dialog the audio is not sync with the characters actions.
I only managed to fix the game's stuttering audio using Proton 7.0-6, not the current experimental version. Unfortunately, nothing I tried helped with the audio and video synchronization during dialogues in both cutscenes and in-game. The rest of the game works well.
Here's my tip:
Force this particular game to use Proton 7.0-6.
Set these launch configurations:
PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 gamemoderun %command% /WineDetectionEnabled:False
Platinum experience already with Proton 9.0-3
Overall Experience:
- Description: The game runs very well at 60FPS+ without any problems, completely out of the box without the need for any adjustments.
- Average FPS: 75 FPS
- Problems: The game does not present any problems and can run smoothly.
Proton Versions:
- Tested in the following Proton versions: Experimental, 9.0-3, 8.0-5, 7.0-6, 6.3-8, 5.13-6, 5.0-10, 4.11-13, 4.2-9, 3.16-9, 3.7-8
Proton Version Recommendations:
- Best Performance: 9.0-3 or Experimental
- Minimum Playable Version: 7.0-6
Tweaks
- Launch Options: None
- Configurations Changes: The game opens in low resolution, but this is not a problem or error. You can change the resolution to 1920x1080p in the menu, enable V-Sync, and unlock the FPS (or set it to 60 FPS locked).
Error Messages (crash):
- Error: None
Additional Information:
- Info: Below version 8.0-5, you may start to experience FPS drops. The older the Proton version, the more issues you'll encounter with this game. Therefore, I strongly recommend using version 9.0-3, or at a minimum, version 8.0-5, even if you can play with version 7.0-6.

This positive result contributes to a growing library of verified Linux-compatible titles, offering users on this platform a seamless gaming experience. Further testing on other Linux distributions may provide a more comprehensive overview of the game's cross-platform compatibility.
The game is already Platinium for those playing with Proton Experimental, Zenimax itself confirms that and the experience is indeed flawless
The game is already Platinium for those playing with Proton Experimental, Zenimax itself confirms that and the experience is indeed flawless, enable Pronto Experimental and play as you wish, no problems whatover, I think that is time for this game to become platinum, NVIDIA DLSS and DLAA working fine, 60FPS no frame drops, works flawless from the start.
I'm unable to open the game in the latest Ubuntu LTS
Overall Experience:

FPS drops and intermittent audio problems.
Intermittent audio crackling.
The game don't open in fullscreen 1080p, but after change the resolution on manu works fine, even after the second play.
Massive FPS drops during animations from 60FPS to 15-20FPS
The game generally runs smoothly at 60 FPS, but occasionally experiences frame rate drops during specific animations, such as falling bridges or boss resurrections. Additionally, there may be intermittent audio problems.
Both Windows and Linux versions may initially launch at a lower resolution. To resolve this, simply adjust the resolution in the graphics settings menu (and enable V-sync). The correct resolution should be retained for subsequent launches.
