The game drops to 30 on alot of sections.
Crashes on anything that has to do with cutscenes (Scenario or Weapon menu), Two logs shows: -mfmediaengine.dll caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005) in module mfmediaengine.dll at 0033:f976b140. -AVProVideo.dll caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005) in module AVProVideo.dll at 0033:367e6e78.
Tried multiple proton versions, Experimental, 8.0-5 (Can't use 8.0-2 like the latest report), 9.0-3, Ge 9-20, Ge 8-32. All give the same result of crashing randomly, specifically when entering the upgrade menus.

FPS drops and intermittent audio problems.
Intermittent audio crackling.
The game don't open in fullscreen 1080p, but after change the resolution on manu works fine, even after the second play.
Massive FPS drops during animations from 60FPS to 15-20FPS
The game generally runs smoothly at 60 FPS, but occasionally experiences frame rate drops during specific animations, such as falling bridges or boss resurrections. Additionally, there may be intermittent audio problems.
Both Windows and Linux versions may initially launch at a lower resolution. To resolve this, simply adjust the resolution in the graphics settings menu (and enable V-sync). The correct resolution should be retained for subsequent launches.

If you don't mind seeing video clips playing upside down, there's no need for protontricks to pick it up and play
quartz and wmp11 required for videos to play properly
However, if upside-down movie clips bother you then protontricks quartz and wmp11 are necessary to fix that.
stick with the proton ive mentioned and the game wont crash. set game res to 1080p for opening video to work.
sometimes the music will cut off but auto resumes at check points
It runs ok with Proton7-53. All videos now work. playable but huge fps drops in certain areas.
Multiplayer access is denied unless u set the game resolution to 1366x768 or larger. Once your character loads in, u can change the resolution back to 1280x800.
skill menu can crash at anytime if the mentioned proton isnt used.
Worked out of the box
The multiplayer in this game is a bit questionable. The bugs seem to appear on windows too

6.16-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
No opening video or tutorial videos OOTB. Installed quartz and wmp11(protontricks 992300 quartz wmp11), and now all video plays fine.
If protontricks returns a "permission denied" error, delete all the contents of the pfx folder and restart the game, forcing the use of Proton 5.0. Then quit at the main menu, and run protontricks. After wmp11 is installed you can switch back to your preferred proton version.
I started the game in 5.0 again after the install, then quit and switched to 6.16-GE-1. Video did not work in 5, but played perfectly well in 6.
Also, I suspect only wmp11 is needed, but did not test without quartz.
Use Proton 6.3-5 or newer and game is starting OOTB.
Movies on tutorial and skills show not working.
Change language to english: fourth entry in main menu, next first and you can change lang to EN. Apply button is on the left :-)

Funciona prácticamente a la perfección excepto por el pequeño problema de la pantalla negra, se soluciona con un click.
Starts with black screen, just click with the mouse and it's fixed.
Работает идеально, проблем с графикой или звуком нет. Запускалась в 4к с геймпадом, никаких проблем не замечено.
Runs nice for an early access product.
expected stutter within the first 10 minutes of playtime
in-game videos showcasing abilities don't display at all

5.9-GE-5-ST GloriousEggroll
Proton-5.9-GE-5-ST
Opening screen is black, you need to left-click with the mouse to bypass it

Game runs great, but game saving does not work.
"Archive cloud save error" => senseless to play the game if progress cannot be saved!
Progress can't be saved due to "archive cloud sync" error. So, when you start the game again, all progress is lost. For this reason: "unplayable". :-(

Proton-5.5-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
used Black Screen fix instructions listed here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1988953233
Opening Cut Scene shows. Technique video samples do not play.
could not load from the cloud.
Crashes when tutorial is selected.

Black screen; Checking the logs indicates quartz failing to initialize the MPEG/ACMWrapper
Tried protontricks 992300 ffdshow
Getting the program log with PROTON_LOG=1 %command% results in the following:
2032699.189:0031:0032:err:quartz:CheckCircularConnection Checking filtergraph returned 80040231, something's not right! 2032699.198:0031:0032:fixme:quartz:ACMWrapper_SetMediaType acmStreamOpen returned 512 2032699.208:0031:0032:fixme:quartz:MPEGSplitter_query_accept {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000} 2032699.208:0031:0032:fixme:quartz:MPEGSplitter_query_accept {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}
Further above in the log we get: 2032699.108:0031:0032:err:ole:CoGetClassObject class {1643e180-90f5-11ce-97d5-00aa0055595a} not registered 2032699.108:0031:0032:err:ole:CoGetClassObject no class object {1643e180-90f5-11ce-97d5-00aa0055595a} could be created for context 0x1
Followed shortly by: 2032699.085:0031:0032:err:quartz:GetClassMediaFile Media class not found
Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure why this has started failing; from earlier reports the video format appears to be h.264, which ffdshow should support.

Not working, black screen after running no matter what mods used
tested on: 4.2-9 4.11-12 3.16-9 3.7-8
mods tested: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 protontricks 992300 ffdshow
OS: Fedora 31 with Linux 5.4.10 + nvidia drivers 440.44

loads into black screen.
tried: protontricks 992300 ffdshow

As mentioned, using "protontricks 992300 ffdshow" seems to work (for protontricks installation instructions, visit https://github.com/Matoking/protontricks). For some reason, game started in chinese, you can change language going to the second to last option in main menu, then first option, then change first item to English. Played through tutorial without issues.

Use "protontricks 992300 ffdshow" to get past black screen. Once you're in game, it plays fine, though there is some annoying audio distortion/crackling.

Initially I was getting the same black screen issue mentioned by other users, so I set proton to output to debug logs and went through them, the only issue I could see was that h264 playback was causing some errors.
I installed ffdshow video codecs using winetricks to the games wineprefix and this largely solved the issue (causes a weird bug for me where the game minimises itself, but once given focus again works fine)
The game ran very well once in game, except for one issue where the mouse loses focus when in game menus, you can alt tab out of the game and back to get control back but that causes the camera to spin out of control which requires another alt tab and back to resolve. for now I highly recommend controller play if you run into the same issue, tested with a wired Xbox 360 controller and had no issues at all so far(heres hoping).

Tried disabling D3D11 and using D9vk without success. Black screen, nothing happens. Proton log says it's having an issue with some media, probably some unsupported video format for game's intro.

A window with black screen with Steam overlay valid

Tested workarounds with esync and disabling DXVK, game hangs at a black screen when it starts.
