EAC for Linux
EAC apparently works on Linux now, but the article I read says Respawn will need to patch the game for it to work. I'm downloading it now to see if that's incorrect but I wouldn't expect anything until season 11.
-dx11
Does need the -dx11 tag or it crashes after EAC init with an Unreal crash window. Otherwise seems to be running great. Have seen reports of video memory crashes, will update if I run into one. Devs have confirmed EAC is intended to be working and will not ban for Linux play.
Still dead
It's still busted, but Valve says they're working with EAC and BattlEye on getting Proton compatibility before the Steam Deck launches, so... Soon(tm)?
Does work but you will be banned!
The game can and will run on Linux but Bungie considers bypassing the platform limitation to be cheating and will permanently ban you per their help page.
"Players who are not accessing Destiny 2 through Windows and attempt to bypass the SteamOS/Proton incompatibility will be met with a game ban."

Tested using the XIVLauncher version. Might want to disable the in-game integration though I don't believe it hurts anything to leave it on.
Had some audio crackling from time to time using PulseAudio. https://www.gloriouseggroll.tv/ffxiv-arch-linux-wine-staging-2-4-works-beautifully/ has a working fix.
The Wine option to capture the pointer in fullscreen needs to be enabled, otherwise you get some odd input stuttering. Didn't test using a controller.
See above about fullscreen mouse capture.
Runs perfectly fine, with a caveat
I had this installed to my HDD and the game ran pretty awful, around 10 FPS with some significant input delay. I moved it to my SSD (same drive with my Linux install) and it worked great. Try that if you have issues.
Works 99%
Mouse clicks don't always want to register when it first boots but a few alt-tabs fixed it for me.
I did have one crash but I haven't been able to replicate it. There might be memory leak issues but I'm not certain; the game has a few crash bugs on windows as well.
It's dead, Jim
CTD on launch. Not sure which anti-cheat it's using, but that's likely what's causing it to break.
