Game segfaulted at launch for me but that was just a broken vulkan shader cache. If your game segfaults. Got rid of that with rm -r ~/.cache/radv_builtin_shaders*
After that I followed https://www.protondb.com/users/793747973 and was able to play with no issues so far.

Played a full game of multiplayer and it worked fine. Only problem was that the game stays in the loading screen longer than on windows, so you loose a few seconds. Could be bad for competitive play. Might be a shader compilation issue that solves itself with more play time.
Steam doesn't install the game
Install button in steam is greyed out with a remark that the game is available for Windows. No other games in my library has this issue.
Starts, dies abnormally. Tried most of the things mentioned here to no avail.
protontricks -c "wine $HOME/Downloads/UbisoftConnectInstaller.exe" 916440
No proper mouse movement on right display. Fixed by using gamescope
Mouse some times not properly recaptured
The base game as it's shipped by steam works and so does the community patch and the quest pack (I personally recommend to check them out from worldofgothic before you start your first playthrough since it improves a lot of the initial issues)
Didn't work with OpenGL but vulkan runs flawless. Beta password for vulkan demo is 3xperimental
Runs better than the native version ever did for me.
Mouse doesn't work
Played the full game fine with minor performance degradations, same as reported on windows.
Fell out of sync some times but pretty minor.
Resolution was set to 1080p at the beginning, had to unfullscreen and fullscreen again to fix.
Didn't test gamepad support.
HOTAS is an issue but couldn't find anything else. Should be good if you don't want to use it anyway.
Throttle of the HOTAS was detected as a controller
