The game, as of now, is borderline unplayable. Game hitching just from any weapon or character rendering for the first time

Textures and custom models take lengthy times to load and cause the game to freeze for seemingly random lengths of time. They at least seem to load a placeholder default model, with a plastic-like texture applied, if either do not load fast enough. This occurs on Windows as well (atleast in my experience), so it appears to be a general game bug this season. Problems with hitching immediately occur again when starting a new match and doing any of the triggers (picking up a different weapon, switching skin, seeing a new legend model)
Game hitches whenever any new model loads for the first time in a match (Including weapons!) Seems to be exclusive to Linux in my current experience
Frequent freezing for random lengths of time
None that are exclusive to Linux, but there are a few generally, such as Heirlooms not staying equipped.
Using launch flags provided by another user helped tremendously with performance; however, the game still hitches in so many critical moments for long enough to easily get you and/or your team killed. Recommend avoiding the game for a week or two until Respawn fixes these problems.

Linux support is closed due to cheating.
On the officialTwitter/X an article was posted Oct. 31st; stating this is due to Linux being "...a path for a variety of impactful exploits and cheats."
Very likely would run with an official version of Proton, though I didn't have the chance to try any.
The partially broken login screen for XBox live is the biggest issue preventing this game from being more accessible on Linux.
protontricks 962130 -q dotnet40 Took multiple attempts to get above installed, but eventually worked.
Login screen is still partially broken; I've noticed a lot of users seem to be having the same issue, where despite following the steps in the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjpNhiv9_FY they still cannot log in. The issue seems to be that Microsoft prompts you to "allow" grounded access to your XBox profile and other information, but for some reason this specific page is skipped, thus causing the game to completely fail at trying to log you in. Annoyingly, I only discovered this by switching over to my Windows install and running the game there. Allowing Grounded access to the needed data also fixed all issues I ran into while loading the game in Linux, with the exception of the login pages still forcing you to operate them blindly.
If you don't have an active install of Windows, powering up a virtual machine would be your best bet for getting past the annoying "Allow access" screen which is confusingly skipped only on Proton.
Game runs like native; given its simplicity, anyone should reasonably be able to enjoy this title unless they are using an outright toaster.
Multiplayer performance is like native, Mods can be run through the Linux version of r2modman. Game sometimes crashes when starting your own lobby, but does not crash when joining others' lobbies.
