The strength of this game is how it looks and you lose this due to the 30 FPS cap and the performance degradation compared to native.
Few times when random input was made on mouse or a voluntary one was done to e.g. select a dialog option: the game crashes.
Frequently crashes even if framerate is capped to 30 FPS. Frequency increases as framerate is raised. I suppose the crashes were more common during cutscenes.
- Adaptive quality is causing a crashes as soon as it's loaded.
- With default settings the game crashed ca. 5/5 times right away after the opening cutscene.
Not worth it :/
After playing the first two missions in one go, I couldn't load the save game.
Nor was I able to start a new game after the first play session.
Tried loading a the savefile and starting a new game after setting the quality to the lowest to no avail.
It is unplayable in this current state. The crashes are just annoying at first, but during that quest this game became unbearable.
Stuttering mostly in open-world
Cannot play one hour without a crash occuring. During a certain boss (in quest 1.2 - Dr. Q at Monarch Theater) a crash is guaranteed. Tried various combinations of graphical settings, to no avail. I retried this over 20 times.
Using i3wm many windows are launched by the Origin launcher which have to be switched to floating mode one-by-one otherwise the game will not launch.
eval $(echo "%command%" | sed "s/2KLauncher\/LauncherPatcher.exe'.*/mafiadefinitiveedition.exe'/")
Using i3wm. You have to use the custom launch options to avoid starting the game via the 2K launcher, otherwise the game works flawlessly. By the way, it had worked for a while even with the 2K launcher, make sure to try it out-of-the-box first.
