gamemoderun mangohud %command% -vulkan -vk_radv -fullscreen -high +fps_max 0
Did not work well with nvidia, especially on wayland, works well after switching to AMD, though minor bugs still occur, probably because of CS itself.
Native, runs like shit
sometimes the status bar isn't hidden while fullscreen, alt-tabbing sometimes breaks mouse input or lags
sometimes mouse input breaks and only moves in one axis
lags when seeing an enemy, ping jumps up to 1000+, also lags heavily when opening steam overlay, also lags heavily when opening menu while in game
crashes when there isn't enough vram, pretty sure it's a memory leak
New problems with every update, one gets fixed, two get introduced. Recent updates made ping jump up to 5000ms when seeing an opponent and menus lag heavily. Basically a launch options simulator to make it remotely playable. Not enjoyable.
-novid -high -nojoy -tickrate 128 +fps max 0
The "-novid" option is requred to launch the game, other options improve framerate quite a lot. Sometimes the game won't launch even with "-novid", if it doesn't after a few tries, you can browse local files>csgo>panorama and rename "videos" folder as someone already mentioned. It doesn't really affect the experience that much, just removes some effects like XP points added after the match or lobby background.
gamemoderun mangohud WAYLAND_DISPLAY= %command% -vulkan -vk_radv -fullscreen -high +fps_max 0
The sound flat out didn't work at first, now it's horrendous. Not to mention it's muffled even on legacy settings, it also has major sync issues. Shot sounds are sometimes delayed.
Smokes have all kinds of artifacts, including TRANSPARENCY.
Always starts as a regular bordered window, have to switch it in the settings; goes back to bordered window after switching workspaces; ALT+TAB doesn't work, the controls remain on the CS2 window instead of transferring to the other ones.
It freezes. A LOT. The Vulkan implementation is basically unplayable. 300ms freeze every time you scope. Random 100ms freezes every few seconds. MAJOR freezes in smokes, FPS sags to 20 (regular is 120!). CS:GO on DX11 didn't have any of these problems, ran at ~300 FPS with no freezes whatsoever.
Crashes without "WAYLAND_DISPLAY=" launch option on Wayland. Dead freezes the Steam client regularly upon exit.
It is unplayable in the current state, seems like Valve didn't even bother launching it before release. The Proton is disabled, so you can't run the still broken, but better Windows version. It's a shame that Valve, the same company that made Steam Deck, can't fix their own Linux title.
Native version doesn't work even with `openssl-1.1` installed (at least under a flatpak runtime). Proton runs fine.
ALT+TAB makes textures become a scrambled mess
Runs perfectly
not sure if intentional but sometimes audio from props disappears
runs a but a bit slow considering the quality
It's still in beta so the issues are to be expected, and I didn't bother much with controller setup beyond the sticks (would be nice if it was autodetected as an rc controller though)
The game doesn't return to fullscreen when alttabed (might be a hyprland thing)
Works pretty much perfectly
Stuck on loading, doesn't want to close
Just don't play it, it's bad anyways.
Steam seems to install a non-working linux version by default, runs fine through Proton
EAC borked
Installs, runs, gets an anticheat error, prompts to install EasyAntiCheat, installs it "successfully", crashes.
Low fps and constant frame drops
Doesn't work
DXVK_ASYNC=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Crashes on loading screen with launch options, without them doesn't even get to loading screen. Haven't tried anything else yet. My library is on NTFS partition, I don't know if it can cause this problem.
Doesn't work
DXVK_ASYNC=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Now it gets stuck on "Connection to Bethesda" screen. I have it installed on an NTFS partition, not sure if this can cause this problem.
Works perfectly
i think it crashed once and displayed a log on the screen
The game freezes after a few minutes and some Unity loading window appears. Not playable.
Crashed randomly once
