Add two Engine.ini file containing "9" inside each Config/ folder of "steamapps/compatdata//pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Application Data/Ubisoft/Anno1404" and "Anno1404Addon" folders.
No issue with the latest hotfix of the game (december 16th).
Switching window with ALT-TAB may let appear a black bar when comming back from KDE Plasma.

DualSense controller is fully supported. PS5 like experience. No configuration or tinkering required. Click and play.
Use DX11 (or DX12 if it is working for you). 3-4GB of VRAM really recommended as minimum
With a controller, you need to disable in Steam the mouse emulation with the controller gyro. If not, you will move your character head every time you move the controller.
DX12 unplayable with my R9 285. Even DX11 at low settings is really laggy.
PS: Linux native version doesn't support AMD GPUs, use Proton instead.
Not playable
Native version crashes with AMD graphics card. With Steam Play and "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1" launch option I can see the intro but the main menu freezes.
With all DLC the game runs only with Proton Experimental or an old 5.0 proton (which has bad performance).
Customizing graphics parameters is enough to be playable
Crashes ruins the experience but it will eventually get fixed.
Some stuttering in heavy scenes
On loading screens when moving to another scene (fast travel for example) it often crashes. Restarting the game helps to continue past the loading screen but will eventually crash some scenes later.
I have an RX 6700 10gb at 1080p with 32gb of RAM. All graphics settings to maximum.
Works with no major issues
Small performance issues due to hardware. Customizing graphics parameters helps a lot.
Besides maybe a performance problem it works really well
