Can always crash after 30 minutes or so
On Steam Deck, when the game crashes, it just quit itself. However, on Linux Mint (LMDE6 Faye), whenever it crashes, it follows by the message "Out of memory".
-oldgameui
Out of memory or address space & sometimes instant close down without message
Quite annoying to play. Latest GE-Proton, Proton Hotfix, Proton Experimental, Proton 9, they all have the exact same problem with this game. Game will eventually crash if I play more than 30 minutes or so. Sometimes can be an hour. Native & public beta as of the time of writing is still NOT the one I should pick as the result can be much worse and doesn't solve any mentioned problems at all. Lower graphic settings don't help.
Freezes on startup
Only the Steam Deck runs just fine (22~30 fps, 1:30 battery life, all low settings) My PC (Linux Mint 21.2 Victoria, LMDE6 Faye) always hangs at startup. Only a little symbol at the bottom right is shown.
I did go to my UEFI but had no luck finding way to turn of iGPU (ASUS Laptop) GE Proton doesn't help either. "__NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 %command%" doesn't help too.
mangohud %command%
Was having issues since the menu with NVIDIA GTX1650 Super but now with both AMD CPU and GPU, the game works perfectly without issues from start to finished. (Haven't tried out Impossible difficulty though)
Crashed on startup
-dx11
Runs just fine on Steam Deck with low details of graphics On PC However, the message shows up : DX12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument.
If I put -dx11 in the Launch Option, the game will just crash with "Fatal error" message.
GE-Proton9-23 does not help.
Perfect and smooth
91.1 hours in. No issues. Works out of the box.
Works perfectly fine OOTB
57 hours in from start to finished including post game quests. No issues whatsoever.
No issues
Edited the Engine.ini to remove motion blur. The details are described at NexusMods website. The game runs flawlessly since start to finish.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" %command%
Works just fine even with HF patch ( installation via Steam's launch option : PROTON_LOG=1 "PATH/TO/STEAMLIBRARY/steamapps/common/PROTON_VERSION/proton" waitforexitandrun "PATH/TO/HF/PATCH/INSTALLER.exe" && echo %command% > /dev/null )
