Game ran well, but had a few minor input bugs
Mouse sensitivity way too high
Sometimes menus wouldn't close correctly and would get stuck over the screen, making it hard to see and preventing any menu buttons from being clicked. I had to ALT+F4 during a few instances where I couldn't press the Quit button.
The game runs perfectly fine for the most part, however, there's no options menu for changing volume levels, mouse sensitivity, field of view, etc, which can make this game somewhat disorienting. When playing this I had to reduce my system mouse sensitivity temporarily just so I could play it, and use the system volume mixer to reduce the audio which was too loud.
Doesn't launch
Game cannot start, returns the following error: Failed to initialize BattlEye Service: Driver Load Error (31)
Frequently crashes, otherwise runs fine
Mouse and keyboard controls became trapped while game was in fullscreen mode; I had to make the game windowed in order to type into other applications.
Game crashing after 1-2 hours of idling, or even sooner if minimized. Very frustrating
Runs fine now!
Sometimes the game forgets whether it's fullscreen or windowed and the cursor position gets confused. Fortunately, toggling fullscreen fixes this
The frequent crashes mentioned in my old report have been fixed :)
Sometimes gets stuck loading
Game would sometimes freeze when starting or finishing levels, requiring me to force close it. Not a big deal though, everything else works perfectly!
Unable to start. Please reinstall the base game.
Tried all the tricks listed by others and could not get the game to even start at all. I then reinstalled it on the system drive, and after renaming TS3.exe to Sims3Launcher.exe and so on, it began showing this error message "Unable to start. Please reinstall the base game". Nothing I've tried can get it to launch.
Installed from scratch on ext4 and everything worked perfectly
After successfully running other games, I learned that proton games must be installed on an ext4 partition and won't work properly on NTFS (due to permission/filepath differences).
Using steam's inbuilt "Move Install Folder" option will move the files, but the game still won't work if it was initially installed on an NTFS partition. Installing it from scratch on ext4 fixed it for me :)
