I always use forced experimental. Anyway, Vulkan one doesn't work, but DX does with no issues.
Game actually starts (unlike it used to), but after starting initializing, it says EAC didn't launch properly and kicks you out.
GAME LETS YOU INTO THE MENU. Match will error during its loading.
I always start everything on Experimental so no true tinkering on my side.
The game finally lets you in. The error occurs past successful lobby when you try to load in - it fails to connect to the host. I (fortunately) don't have friends who play DBD so I couldn't test if custom works, but at the very least you can get into the menus now.
I tried survivor with crossplay - error. Survivor without crossplay - failed to find a lobby to start a game. Killer without crossplay - failed to find a lobby to start a game. Killer with crossplay - I saw the loading started, but I got 2 errors and it didn't load in. Maybe a Linux only lobby could start? No idea.
Note: game seems to have considerably better performance (FPS) in the menus via Proton than on Windows, but I was kept out of the game via EAC for so long it might be from an update rather than Proton vs Windows.
I do not tinker, I always play with proton experimental by default. The game just runs on Steam now. :)
If after launching with tips from https://www.protondb.com/app/1097150#aRzxJIFk7c it says EAC isn't initialized, install Proton EAC from https://steamdb.info/app/1826330/ - after this it works for me! :)
I don't tinker, but I always use Experimental.
Perfect OOTB experience. Must be very well optimized. A true gem among the modern gaming mess.
The game keeps crashing briefly after start. I cannot find a solution.
I'm not a tinkerer, I launch everything with forced experimental because it's my default setting.
