Had to install vcrun2022 following these instructions:
so for future posterity, here's how to do it through the GUI
hit the super button, type protontricks to open up the GUI applet
select the game in your library you want to add the library for and click ok
select default wine prefix, ok
install a windows DLL or component, ok
you'll usually just need vcrun2022, with the title "Visual C++ 2015-2022 Libraries"
Protontricks complained that SHA256 didn't match, but URL matched official Microsoft installation page, so it was fine.
The first cutscene definitely had its audio out of sync. But during gameplay everyting was fine.
Even though DualSense is supported, had to enable Steam Input to play and game was not detecting my controller still, so I couldn't change the key binding.
Have Dualsense on bluetooth and it is not being picked up for some reason. But another Xbox controller with 2.4 GHz dongle is being picked up.
Game tells me that my graphics drivers are old which definitely is not true, but apart from that everything is fine. Can play on medium settings just fine. Sometimes lags to load some assets, but that might be related to game being on HDD as well.

Stuttering every one in a while. Also, leptop is heating and fans are working really hard producing 300 FPS, which is completely unnecessary.
Videos are missing
Just a little stuttering here and there that does not impact the gameplay
Loading screen between levels was not smooth, but this might be the problem for all platforms.
Install vcrun2025 DLL for C++.
Level loading was a bit too slow, but running on HDD, so maybe it is expected.
C++ is mandatory and game does not prompt for install itself. Protontricks or Winetricks required.
