Played with 2 friends for just under 2 hours, no issues with online.
The game launches but screen stays mostly blank. Initally I put this down to having an abnormally widescreen (5120x1440), but it seems even others with more standard screen sizes have issues too. So I tried using Proton, instantly see the splash screen on launch which I never could before.
In short, the native port seems borked, just use Proton.
Very easy to get the game running, with no major issues other than the one crash. I don't feel that's a persistent issue though.
Had to install the Proton EasyAntiCheat runtime
I had one crash near the start of my second match, a C++ runtime exception showed up, but I played 3 more matches after that without issue.
Other than the crash I had that I already mentioned, it seems to play quite well, very comparable to running on Windows.
Overall the experience has been good, the only thing to remember is to install the "Proton EasyAntiCheat runtime", you can just search for it in the Steam library.
Game seemingly runs smoother than on Win11 with the same hardware. Roughly same FPS but the frametimes feel more stable.
I've played using Proton v8 and v9, both working great for me!
Flawless. Played for 7 hours, no issues at all.
Works great. Only issues encountered are the same on Windows.
I've seen some reports of performance degradation after some time. I personally didn't notice any. My FPS remained around 100 on maximum settings. This is with an RTX 3080-Ti and a resolution of 5120 x 1440 (Samsung Odyssey G9) throughout my 7-hour session.
