works out of the box.
saves are good, the controller works perfectly, no issues were found.
works out of the box. native version
had to change from keyboard to controller on the options menu since it didn't automatically change when i launched the game.
Native lagged everytime it had to load something new, an area, enemy encounter, curio interaction and loot interaction, proton fixes it all
proton feels a lot more stable and it loads in a fraction of the time it took on native so the audio and loading issues are not present while playing in proton
on a clean install it works perfectly, mods(both visual replacements and gameplay changes) work without an issue, all save files are present
gamemoderun %command%
after a clean install of arch on a x11 session of KDE plasma it works perfectly, no problems, no need to switch to proton. only "tinkering" i did was add "gamemoderun %command%" to the launch options.
workshop provides an endless amount of entertainment. vanilla is fun and has great campaigns.
changing audio from speakers to headphones doesn't save when you quit the game and you have to change it every time you start the game.
if you join a server with moderate ping shots can sometimes not register, you have to join groups to be able to join most populated community servers, toxicity in normal valve servers and bad sportsmanship are quite present
only issue i have is i have to change audio from speakers to headphones every time i boot up the game, it makes the special infected sound a bit more clear, kinda essential in versus.
Other GE and valve proton versions slowed the game down by about 15-20fps, even on more recent versions of GE, but GE 7-20 is the sweet spot, it kept the game on a constant 60fps
