I am not sure but I have tried multiple versions of Proton and they have all given the same results the game just randomly shuts down
after the crash the quick save i did had vanished
all variations of proton the game always just closes itself down randomly
I am going to try and tinker around and see what if I can solve this issue will update if I have any joy but as of now this game is unplayable
Works fine now
This is an update to my previous report the game now seems to run fine since I upgraded to AMD prior to this I was using an Nvidia (So possibly could have been to do with that?) other than that It works perfectly fine
Sadly if you are playing online and the other person is on windows this experience is just painful

Me and a friend where testing the online multiplayer thorugh both Linux and Windows, his steam deck and my Arch linux OS worked absolutely fine together however when he jumped over to his Windows PC we kepts getting conenction Lost. On his PC he was seeing Untrusted peer instead
after multiple tests with this game Steams Proton and Windows are incompatible (Not sure if this is a crossplatform issue or whether this is the Windows users EAC is detecting unusual behaivor, i,e; Proton and cutting the connection because of it)
However if you are both users are using Linux/Steamdeck then your online play will work seemlessly. Hope this helps
No longer working due to new Launcher update
Forced to update the launcher as part of the SE intergration

Online play works well
this is an updated report from my previous one and FF14 works well now out of the box no need for tinkering from what I have currently seen in my playthrough although I also happy using Glorious Eggrolls Proton with the game as well
The game seems to work straight out of the box no tinkering required to get this working just install, play and enjoy yourselves :3
The game should work after downloading, however I noticed that booting the game for me loaded Wine64 preloader instead of using Proton
Not sure if this is just the game being broken or not but I found that trying to move character would randomly stop moving while holding W to move and the mouse cursor when selecting evidence kept snapping back to the centre of the screen
Frame rate issues I just turned down the graphic settings to medium turned of anti aliasing and bloom off too and this seem to fix the frame rate drops

Everything seems to work fine and I haven't had any slowdowns or issues with the audio seems to work out of the box
Single Play WOTB
I have not had any issues with this game whilst playing and seem to be really responsive.

I had no issues with the game itself, the only bug I found was whenever I altered the volume in game on loading screen it would default back too 100 but not sure if this is a bug with the game or Proton
Game works well with Proton Experimental no issues as of yet but will update more as I play
The game works fine with Proton Experimental and works exceptionally on my system
