I've followed totobono4's advice, which is likely the post below this, and it all worked flawlessly! Gonna copy and paste here again in case anyone needs it.
Works fine with following : Hawkheart's custom ProtonGE for videos fixes, I followed these instructions (native steam install for Steam Deck). NuGet XAudio2_9 dll for voicelines fixes, followed instructions from this Steam discussion.
The links should be identical, so I just downloaded all the files and got it working.
The launch settings page is a bit annoying, but Steam+RightTrackpad will allow you to use mouse and click launch.
Thanking totobono4's post again for helping me!
A nice little game to play on Deck.
The visual style of the game, which like like an oldschool CRT effect, seems to be a bit too strong when the game resolution is low. Since Steam Deck is only 1280x800 pixels, the game's style effect can make it look a bit blurry. And it seems like there isn't a way to tune effects down in game.
Basically Flawless
Making the Right Trackpad behave like a Mouse should allow you to click the name input section. Then you can press Steam + X to call out the keyboard to enter your name.
After entering the game, you may notice button prompts are for keyboard and mouse. Relaunching the game should fix this issue.
Runs pretty much flawlessly on Deck. Feels like playing a Deck ported game.
Playable, but stability is very inconsistent. Game freezes on Character screen a lot, forcing restarts.
A C++ install was required. Some issues occured with the default Proton of Steam Deck. Worked fine after installing Proton GE.
Game often crashes when moving to "Character" tab in start menu. However, the crashes are very inconsistent, and seems like it might have something related to switching tabs too fast. If I use R1 to slowly switch to the "Character" tab after each tab fully loads, crashes rarely seems to occur.
The crashes also only started to occur after obtaining some idol powerups in game. Might be related.
Also, by "crash", it's actually a complete game freeze. The video is stuck on a screen and the audio keeps playing. I am still able to force quit the game with Steam everytime.
I have to say the game itself runs much better than I thought on the Steam Deck. It's only stability issues and the constant freezing that cause frequent resets happening that makes the game annoying to play.
Gameplay itself is alsmost perfect 60 FPS. Been really enjoying the game.
