Launch Option: "Play Predecessor"
Don't select "Play Predecessor (DirecttX 12). DX12 gave me huge performance issues. Stick with DX11.

Not playable on Intel Ultra 7 155H
Was able to run this game on my Onexplayer X1 Intel a few months ago, but now since last 1.1 version, It starts the EAC Banner, but then closes and an Unreal Engine error pops saying this: You do not have any debugging symbols required to display the callstack for this crash. I tried on Steam, Heroic via Epic Games, various versions of Proton, various Linux Distros (PopOS, Bazzite, Chimera, CachyOS...), and it doesn't work with any of these things...

Works from both my laptop and desktop, primarily play from my desktop. Desktop has 5800x3D, 6950XT, and PopOS with AMD drivers. No changes necessary, just told Steam to use latest proton layers and I've never had any issues. No additional launch commands, no issues between matches, no random match disconnects, and no degraded performance. Works just as well as it does on my Windows partition.

At first i couldnt launch the game, it just stoped running when i tried to launch it. I had installed lib32-amdvlk for some reason (but I use an Nvidia graphics card so HOW DID IT GET ON MY SYSTEM?) I fixed it by installing lib32-nvidia-utils and by removing lib32-amdvlk then the game started as it should!
Game works flawlessly for the first match. After the first match, you cannot connect to another match until you restart the game.
Only realised today Paragon was still alive and kicking and works flawlessly on a Framework 13 under linux :D
Runs perfect out of the box

Everything works.
I initially tried with Experimental and it didn't work. I had to clear my compatdata and then re-run it with Proton-GE for it it to work.

gamemoderun %command%
It is very important that you use Proton GE and have lib32-nvidia-utils installed. I use endeavouros (arch-based distro), so I just installed "proton-ge-custom-bin", then used it in Steam (Library -> right-click on Predecessor -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Tick "Force use of a specific Steam Play Compatibility Tool" -> select "Proton-GE"). I also installed "lib32-nvidia-utils", without it the game tries to launch and does nothing and stops.
I was able to play just fine. If you experience input lag, try stopping your compositor (e.g. picom, compton, etc.) if possible before launching the game.

Game does not launch
Tried all the newest proton versions

nao testei outras versoes do proton, apenas o proton-ge, funcionou muito bem

Stopped working after some update. Not sure when since I took a 1 year break from gaming.
Borked after some update

Ive struggled a few months trying to beat damn EAC. Game was able to start on any Proton version but any type of game ends with a network error. And finally I
m succeeded.
Heres what I`ve done before going to give up:
- Proton 7.55 globally
- Proton 7.55 force to the game
- Check files (to reset EAC)
- Install EAC as a tool in that asshole valve app
- Restart this sht
- Start game, compile shaders, and even though EAC just closes game finally works!
I hope it will help someone, cuz I want to broke my keyboard after all those surveys on that dumbass site. GL!
PC Freeze on Lane Selection
When the game tries to connect to the game server, it stops with a NETWORK ERROR.
gamemoderun %command%
Stuttering in first couple games, but I imagine it's just the shaders and it does get better as you play.
mangohud gamemoderun %command%
At first it did not launch. It just stopped again.
On my system I had not installed lib32-nvidia-utils
but I had lib32-amdvlk
(but I have an Nvidia graphics card so idk...)
The fix was to install lib32-nvidia-utils
AND!!!! to remove lib32-amdvlk
then the game started as expected and worked flawlessly!
complete custom
graphics low / capped to 30fps on sd
sometimes ingame level on enemy
Aside from occasional crashes that my Windows friends don't seem to experience, game runs well
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
Game tends to crash every 6-10 games I want to say
Runs better, smoother, nicer (graphically) than it does on windows. Love it.
MINOR, VERY MINOR problems with frame drops ONLY WHEN CAPPED AT 60FPS
Honestly had no issues. Excellent. Was able to connect perfectly fine, and had no issues playing.
The game worked perfectly on my system. Multiplayer worked without any hickups or disconnects.
Suprisingly, this runs smoother than my windows installation.
gamemoderun %command%
Some major stuttering at the beginning of the game, went away in time.
Remember to install all needed libraries, I have a new AMD GPU, and couldn't launch the game, because I only had the necessary libraries for NVIDIA.
Tried GE too, and gamemoderun, but no luck. Just says "Running" for a second, and nothing opens.
Game is running good overrall, might experience some issues with audio and fps drops at times though
Audio seems low quality, not sure if it's a linux issue or the game's audio just sucks ass
Some rare fps drops but overall a pretty okay experience. Sometimes the game felt like 30 fps even though it was more than 90 so that was weird
Runs perfectly out of the box
It plays as you would play it under Windows, nothing to complain about, which surprises me given the presence of Easy Anti Cheat.
gamemoderun %command%
As of this writing, the game is in Early Access. I am therefore almost certain that the few stability problems (more like server problems) are due to this status.
Several online matches have been played in a row without any problem, only one game crash, I blame the early access status more than playing under Proton and Linux.
Unlock framerate at 1080 and Epic setup, i have more than 90 fps, so that working pretty great.
But, be careful all the time with games with anti-cheat under Linux, an abusive ban quickly happens.
I already had Protontricks installed on my machine, and I didn't configure anything more for this game, but as a pop-up sometimes appears when starting Steam, maybe Protontricks has improved the playability of Predecessor ?
It worked very well without the « gamemoderun %command% » argument, but since it didn't cost anything I added it anyway, to see, nothing negative and maybe positive, so I left it.
Works extremely well on Linux, plug-and-play minus needing to customize the controls. Performance is very good as is multiplayer!
Mapped abilities to face buttons
Draws 22.5w on the default settings when locked at 40Hz
Text is a little small otherwise legible
Currently EAC is supported on Linux, Kudos to the developers for being Linux friendly :)
The Games Install But Refuses To Start
Ran in proton experimental and tried several other versions of proton and the game still didnt run. It just force closes right after you press play.

The game works ok without tinkering, I tested with Proton GE but another Proton versions could be tested as well.
EAC working good on this game so far out of the box. Just as the initial early access community tests. No special command line options needed.
The game worked good out of the box after installing it

Some performance problems, seems to go away over time, probably related to shader compilation

Occasional stutters
Works fine
Install and play.

Little bit of stutter not unplayable
Force Proton Experimental; Hope EAC won't bite us in the ass longterm
April 2022 playtest, no issues whatsoever.

No issues whatsoever

the game works with Proton-Experimental
it seems to work but more test is needed
