Fulscreen/Audio issues
the audio is not played through the default speakers but switching the default back and forth fixes the issue
the window was just in the middle of the screen but disabling full screen and turning it back on fixes the issue
game works as expected the only issue are the fulscreen/audio issue fullscreen doesn't cover the whole screen and the audio isn't being played through the default audio device but that is a simple fix turn fullscreen on and of and fullscreen works change default audio source to a different device then back and audio is fixed

The default version selected by Steam was crashing all the time in less than 5 minutes. After changing the version to the 9.0-2 I was able to play for more than 3 hours without any crash again.

Native version works out of the box
There are reports of slowdowns for long sessions, and I've seen something similar in the longest one I've played, but those same reports also exist for Windows, so it doesn't seem like it's a Linux issue (even a dev log mentioned it)

The native client broke again and is only playable via proton how ever it does work well on proton
the game is likely to work just as well native next update as they often fix this issue quickly.
The game played perfectly fine, I played it quite a bit without any issues and it was overall a good experience. Would recommend.
Still a good experience, would recommend the proton version more, however.
The performance in the Native version is usable, but leaves much to be desired. Certain areas would lower my fps into the 40s, while the Proton version would indeed never have fps hangs.
Game plays Natively on Linux, and runs pretty well on Deck. There's room for changes that would increase battery life, it's not too bad out of the box.
The game would launch but the mouse only functioned for half the page. I had to get a controller to be able to use shoulder buttons to access the options > video settings to get it set to windowed mode
Full screen made only half the screen accesseble by mouse.
The game crashed when setting the anti alliasing (while in a multiplayer game) to FXAA.
After getting the game to windowed mode (had to use a controller to do so since the mouse was bound to the bottom half of my 1440P screen), and not messing with the settings for AA while in a game, the game ran fine.
Works perfectly out of the box

In the beginning, everything was fine. Then came many FPS drops. Something is broken on Native?
Thanks.

Like what? Native doesn't work and Proton barely does...
No audio at all on Native (on menu)
Black screen when Alt-Tabbing back
Fps doesn't leave 30ish at medium settings and 60 at max on lowest
Native doesn't even run after loading
Native doesn't run
Not yet ready for Proton or Native.
Alt-Tabing whilst in Fullscreen returns a black screen, forcing you to quit the game. Alt-Tabing does work in Borderless mode.
To use a custom Logo, you have to move your Logo.png to the generated proton cdrive path: drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/Volcanoid/Volcanoids/Logo.png
Very frequent crashes, practically unplayable.
Crashes every 5 or so minutes.

FPS tanks when shadows enabled
Working extremely well, as long as shadows are disabled. Everything else on max.
They currently drop the FPS a lot when enabled, no matter what settings used.
Some energy gauges will start z fighting
