Once i tried to launch the game with improvement mod. Fixed by setting Proton version to 8.0-5
Overall, base game worked perfectly out of the box. Though i had to set Proton version 8.0-5 to run with Improvement Mod because of the graphical issues (whole screen displays as a single color)

Switching to fullscreen stretches the entire image and closes the game. I could for the life of me not go back from fullscreen. Changing settings would close the game again but it would always stay in fullscreen. Looks very ugly
Works perfectly out of the box. Haven't tried online multiplayer yet. Used Proton 7.0-5 Flatpak community build.

seems fine, played a few matches with no issue
Works flawlessy when started with Proton 6.3-8.
Had to switch from Proton Experimental to Proton 6.3-8 to fix various graphical glitches.

6.21-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Graphics flicker without using GloriousEggroll's Proton
Graphics flashing, too distracting to play.
Many graphics are flashing, regardless of windowed/fullscreen or any graphic options.
Graphics flashing
SP worked fine, did not try MP
While the game is playable, the graphical bugs are very hard to ignore
3D Models flicker in and out of visibility
Easy to install and open up story mode/training. Had no issues besides full screen.
Turned on full screen and it just adds a black border around the existing game window.
Playable like a native game out of the box, save some issues listed below.
Small issue when fullscreening. Solved it by resetting the game's resolution from within the game itself.
The game works fine, but there were some issues:
I couldn't fullscreen the game properly at first. This was solved by resetting the resolution from within the game (doing it only once solved the issue).
The online experience was awful. I could connect and play just fine, but the matches themselves, which offline ran at 60-ish FPS for me, ran at 10-20 FPS at best. That being said, friends I played with reported the same issue when playing from Windows PC's (both against me and against each other), so I don't think this is Proton's fault.
On a similar note, I experienced a crash in my time playing this game with Proton. But, again, people I know have experienced crashes when playing on Windows, so I don't think Proton is at fault for this either.
Works well for online play or campaign with a single controller when Steam Input is enabled.
Fullscreen needed to be set manually in the config file as borderless windowed did not display correctly.
First controller was detected perfectly with steam input, the second controller refuses to be detected by the game even though it's detected by steam.
Game Crashes if a Playstation controller is used without steam input upon pressing a button.
BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Improvement Mod works but only if you change launch options to:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%
the sound keeps popping
game breaks after 1 hour and the sound keeps popping
game breaks after 1 hour

Absolutely zero issues with proton 5.13-4
Did not experience any glitches, crashes, slowdowns, graphical errors, etc. Played both in online lobbies and offline VS mode.
Proton-5.11-GE-3-MF
Online very rarely works if you're lucky enough to get past the lobby list but definitely crashes after a few games.
Works almost exactly the same as the Windows version, minus being able to Fullscreen properly
Online lobby sometimes will not work, same as Windows version
Online still works sporadically due to lobby listing. When you manage to join the online lobby, the game crashes after some matches.
When the game starts, it crashes, but restarts itself afterwards without any problem.
Without the launch command, it's back to giving an initrenderer error.
Online still has issues.
often crashes when trying to display lobbies https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/2832
The game works at full speed out of the box, but the game crashes once you try to connect to network mode. I got pass the network mode once and got into a lobby, but once I got into a battle kiosk the game crashed again.

It runs great after making the configuration that almost everybody commented before, the file ''bbconfigs.ini'' is in ''Save'' folder. Its a shame that the online doesn't works but welp, at least now is playable

Blackscreen if you don't change bbconfig.ini:
iDisplayMode=2

Initially only got a black screen. Edited bbconfigs.ini file and added ""iDisplayMode=2", which made the game launch in fullscreen mode. Game now works flawlessly, at least in offline play. Couldn't test online since I couldn't find any matches.

It works since arrival of proton 4.11-1. Online matches work but it often crashes in the menus. Netcode seems to be similar quality. Offline game modes renders and plays well. Just no video playback for opening and ending. (To fix black screen issue, edit bbconfigs.ini file and append ""iDisplayMode=2" to launch in fullscreen. Later go in options and turn off anti-aliasing for window modes.)

Boots, plays all game sounds, but displays a black screen.

Offline play works fine. Going into online mode instantly crashes most of the time, but occasionally it works and that session will then work online mostly without issues. Played a total of about 50 games with a friend, with 2 crashes to desktop, not counting the numerous crashes from trying to access online mode in the first place.

Multiplayer works sporadically

Offline was playable with a consistent 60fps. "Performance mode" option crashes the game. Attempting to play online does not work and crashes the application immediately, which took 4 seconds to verify and is critical to test before rating a fighting game.

Now works with Proton 4.11-1, did not try multiplayer yet.

Crashes with "InitRender" popup error on startup.

Error: initRenderer - crashes on start.

Startup crash with "initRenderer" error, which appears to be a DirectX error.
