Need some tinkering, latest proton (current proton is 8.x) even latest proton-GE doesnt load the intro. Using older proton (5.13-6) works.
I tried latest proton and proton-GE, doesnt fix. turn out using older proton like what the other reviewer using (probably latest at their time of writing) is the key.
Everything works. Cutscenes and credits play as normal on GE-Proton7-43
Everything worked flawless EXCEPT, the final scene/credits is an unsuported video codec and does not play. Easy enough to watch on youtube after the fact though.
First launch uses a tricky configuration wizard. Will need to remap a trackpad to a mouse or use the touch screen.
Easily playable on deck, please take note that you will need to use the touchscreen to navigate the launcher.
Occured when resuming from sleep mode, fixed when I restarted the game.

For some reason, this site says I don't own the game, but if you go to my steam page, you can see it registered to my account. https://steamcommunity.com/id/oxdestroxo/

To enable video playback install lavfilters then directshow. The order seems to matter.
WINEPREFIX="/path/to/587110/pfx" winetricks lavfilters directshow
Turning off mipmapping from the launcher resolves the issue.
Perfect! 60fps/1080p. Cinematics works well out of the box proton ge
Works very well out of the box. Cinematics does not work, but seeing as there is only the intro cutscene and credits this was not an issue.
gamemode
When on borderless, the mouse would be "captured" by the window some times.
Mouse was visible at all times even on fullscreen.
A bit of stuttering on max settings although I reached 140+ fps, but after capping framerate to 60 (no vsync) and setting Char. draw distance to "long" and Shadow distance to "default" all was good.
The videos that does not work can be found in the game files under "Steam/steamapps/common/Ys Memories of Celceta/movie".

Configuration tool runs, but the game doesn't, after save and launch just noting happen

video cutscenes (logos at startup, intro and ending credits) don't play

The game runs perfectly all the way through, but video cutscenes don't play. Common tricks like disabling winegstreamer and installing codecs in the wine prefix directory have no effect. Being unable to play the ending video, the game skips the entirety of the ending and goes right to the clear game save screen.

Ran perfectly at maximum settings.

Able to launch configuration tool, but the game doesn't launch although the window appears.
None of the launch options work. PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command% PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 %command% PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%

I tried changing all of them in game settings through the launcher, disabling d3d11, using the wine d3d11, and installing vcrun2017 through winetricks since it uses vcrun and that had helped with a similar problem in Dark Souls Remastered. None of it helped. It just crashes immediately every time.

Configuration tool runs, but the game doesn't (it doesn't even pop up a window).
