Played extremely well and I wrecked by accidental grounding

I've loved all the silent hunter games beginning with the first one. I've tried 5 several times to no avail. It finally plays absolutely (nearly) flawless.
had to install uplay through protontricks. This game comes with an outdated client, which doesn't allow you to launch the game (on any platform).
Because all game window are open (and unclosable), you won't see a lot about what is happening on the screen.

Almost all UI window, once in a game, start open. They cannot be close, show no useful information. Ui button are, for most of them, unresponsive. But you can interact with some elements in game and fire torpedo.
Fullscreen or not, the game will start and stay fullscreen.
Install the game, run it via steam but then close the uplay update window. The version of uplay bundled with SH5 does not update correctly. Once proton/wine isn't running then run the following protontricks command
protontricks 48110 vcrun2008 dotnet20 uplay
Sometimes the mouse or keyboard commands don't seem to register but im not sure if this is due to linux or SH5 being an incredibly buggy game. Saving game and restarting/reloading fixes the issue.
SH5 is buggy as hell normally, for example destroyers becoming bugged and not hunting you.
Ive spent quiet a bit of time trying to get the SH Wolves of steel mod working without success.
It requires .net35/4 for some parts of its installation which i was able to get going successfully. Game with crash or freeze on run tho.
Refuses to start
Does not start up at all, stops at installing .NET 2.0
UnknownDoes not start. Shortly after pressing Play, the start process ends abruptly without an error message.
