Steamdeck Fatal error on launch, including video codec display error. Switched to proton GE7-49. Game hogs resources, set graphics settings to low and cap frame rate to 45ish, otherise gpu will be bogged at 99% even in fmv.

all game runs smothly without any issues but one i mentioned. but its almost doesnt harm to gameplay
30 fps
not sure if it's input related but it was unconvinient to use sense mode longer than a couple of seconds. you usually do itby pressing left stick and by some reason it just reset the mode sometimes

Игра идет идеально и полностью пройдена.
Turned down all graphic settings to low, and capped the framerate at 40.
Even with tweaked settings, framerate isn't consistent.
Game crashes often for me, giving me a 'Fatal Error'.
Due to the frequent crashes, I cannot currently recommend this game on the Deck. I tried Proton 7.0.5, Experimental, and GE 7-43.
Set the graphics to the lowest setting however that didn't seem to change anything
But can be fixed in game
There were a few issues but after a restart everything seemed to be fixed
Limit framerate to 30 fps and medium/low settings
videos had no visuals by default, but everything is fine on newest GE
Did not find any major issues
Some missing videos. mf-install did not help. GE probably would have.

Proton-6.13-GE-1
Runs fine with Proton-5.21-GE-1, otherwise videos are missing. I noticed some minor performance issues, but nothing critical.
Runs fine now, including the movies and cutscenes.
I added this report since previous versions of Proton couldn't play the movies in this game. With Proton GE the game works fine now
So I didn't have a problem with intro because I used old save from windows machine, but I encountered problems with cinematics at the end of game. I used this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2g-PLSz2V8, tried previous tricks, different proton versions, protontricks, winetricks and nothing helped.
Cinematics are not played and the skip function doesn't work.
Playable, but we miss videos.Test this yourself and share their results. Game could pass new game screen and become playable with keyboard.
Videos don't play
No movies played, used both mf-install and mf-installcab
Videos do not play which precludes the game from starting but you have to (1) use proton 4.11-13 (maybe change to windows 7 via protontricks 471010 winecfg) (2) use both mf-install and mf-installcab from https://github.com/z0z0z

needs xact
intro video needs https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-installcab both the 32bit and 64bit version.
I've tried several versions of proton . Only worked for me with proton 4.2-9. I tried also several glorious egg versions also with no luck.

No video playback, so no gaming after intro.
mf-installcab fix did not work for me.

This game have some issue to work with when you tried to play, but if you fix it runs nice at max details
First few second when game finally started have some frame drop issue, later was fine.
Game have some serious problem with mediafoundation and linux, like DMC5 https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-installcab this one help me to finally start game.

Intro starts playing but without pictures, only text and sound. After a while it hangs up. Another broken game with a Silver rating...

(1) Some sound issues fixed by installing xact via winetricks
(2) Installed media foundation using z0z0z/mf-installcab script
(3) Copy mfplat.dll to "/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Seven The Days Long Gone/Seven/Binaries/Win64" notice that this is not the game directory but GAMEDIR/Seven/Binaries/Win64/

Demo version works out of the box - platinium

Tried the mfplat.dll fix with no luck. Game does not get past intro

Requires manually install MFplat.dll like RE:2 ; put MFplat.dll to $your-prefix/drive_c/windows/system32 and override mfplat " native, builtin" via winecfg ,game runs very well.

Menu works, but can't start the game. Intro video only has audio and can't be skipped. When it ends, the game just hangs and never starts.

Game launches to menu but I can't start a new game. The intro video does not end/can't be skipped. Tried the DmC 5 / Res.Evil 2 fix with the mediafoundation files but had no luck with it.

The game launches but will not show the video for the intro and eventually hangs using Proton. The game needs Windows Media Foundation. It works using the Lutris installer https://lutris.net/games/seven-the-days-long-gone/ using Lutris to launch the game I've played about 5 hours without any issues.

The game launches, but can't start a new game. Can't get past the intro. The intro starts to play with only subtitles and audio, skip doesn't work, game crashes after that.

Tryed Proton 4.2.2 and wine64 game runs until first intro screen(no movie just text and sound) then just hungs.

Works well with DXVK. No issues.

Works fine without tweaks. Played first mission and got to first city on island.

Works out of the box without any workaround, even in 4k with DXVK! No issues with Audio since FAudio has been added to Proton.

Even though the previous reports say that game works, it often crashes. Also I didn't have any sound issues, like other posters. What the previous reports might have missed, that none of the cinematics aren't playing (if you start a new game, there should be one playing, which it isn't)

framedrops no longer occurs on 3.16-4, game has various audio issues (glitches, voice volume vs ambient etc.)

Audio glitches

Worked well with DXVK, but crashed one time when starting the tutorial.

Some Audio issues (eg. the folk's noise is too high and more) and low FPS

Without "PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%" crashing after a short time. On graphics setting "Epic" around 15FPS, on "Low" around 23 FPS in more crowded areas.
